Nonetheless I didn't played it on Switch so better check somebody's else opinin on that subject.
2. Oh yes there are unlockables. For example heroes most of them is locked and cannot be selected however you can find and recruit them in the game. If you clean 3 floors with them or finish run they are unlocked for you and you can choose them at character select screen to play them from the start of your next run.
3. There is some stat tracking not huge amount but definitely more than minimum.
I presonally played it on PC and wouldn't pay for it second time but if it is your first adventure with DOTE it is worth 20$. Especially if you like comfort of mobility.
PS: I probably have more than 220h in Nioh 2 on my trusty PS4.
Went ahead and purchased it on PC to test it out. Seems interesting and like something I can see myself playing at night before bed when not playing Tales of Maj Eyal on PC and ended up purchasing it on the Switch. I'll test it out tonight and see how the performance is--hopefully not terrible!
But yea, appreciate your response. Was enough to get me off the fence and to buy it. The 40 mins I played on Steam today was pretty fun. I can see somewhat with the small play time I tried the appeal the game offers. I like the pacing of it too--seems like a neat little dungeon crawling roguelike. Definitely what I was looking for to fill the massive void the Switch has in that genre.. I pray ToME gets ported someday, then I'd be in heaven but until then, happy I found this. Can't wait to dig into it here soon.
I'll report back to this thread later--so that others looking at buying it that had concerns like I did will know. The biggest by far is the performance. I'm crossing my fingers that this game isn't a 'dump and run' port where it ends up playing like dookie and never gets patched. Too many dev's these days are doing it to the Switch community knowing we can't refund which is awful. But I am holding out this isn't so yea.
Take care. Will be back here later once I get some playtime on the port. Cheers!
Game is an unplayable mess. It crashes every 5 or so minutes and you lose ALL your progress. Unacceptable. Am going to contact Nintendo but highly doubt they'll allow a refund. What shady practice from this studio... I had such high expectations going into this game for the first time too. Huge letdown.
IF you own a Switch and were thinking to buy this game... DON'T DO IT. It's 100% broken. And they want $20 for it.. LOL Jesus what a bunch of lazy, greedy ♥♥♥♥♥.
Have not had it crash once in 5 hours yet so i cant comment on that but i absolutely adore this game yes the port is clunky but playing it handheld in bed is a dream come true.
"have not had".. Key word. This game shouldn't crash on the system, much more demanding games play on it without hiccup or crashes (Risk of Rain 2 for instance). I think it was a lazy port honestly. Had someone playtested it for 5 minutes (which is how long about it takes for mine to crash) they'd realize it's bonkers. $20 for a broken port. PASS.
Very frustrating. They better fix it or i just feel scammed.
Please take the time to report them to Nintendo. The more people who do are more likely to;
A. Get refunded their money.
B. Force the lazy devs to fix this port.
C. Remove it from the e-shop.
I wouldn't attack the devs for this. They didn't do the porting, Playdigious did. The only technological input the Devs put into the switch port was the base game. At the time of writing this, the game has been on the Switch for a week. That's not a long time in dev-hours, considering Playdigious is a team of only fourteen people, and I doubt all of them were assigned to the DoTE port. Bugs are to be expected when doing stuff like this. It's very unfair to say that you "were scammed of $20." While playtesting, only so many bugs can be found. I've been playing it quite a lot in the three days since I bought the port, and is hasn't crashed once. Your first reaction to game-breaking stuff like this should be to report it to those who have the power to fix it. While making money is a goal of theirs, so is making a good game. If either company knows about this issue, I'm sure they would both make fixing it a priority. Don't confuse a lack of transparency with bad business.
TL;DR Please don't jump to insults and assumptions. I can guarantee this wasn't intentional, so give it some time. If this isn't fixed within a reasonable amount of time, I'd be happy to retract this statement, but I have hope in both Playdigious and Amplitude.
I work in the indie dev business. It's not hard to communicate--seriously it's not. And the bug? Yes, anyone who play tested it for a few minutes would of caught it. Not sure what you want to say about that? If it were my game and someone ported it, guess what? I would of playtested it it. That's a weak excuse to say it's 100% playdigious's fault.
Defend it though, be my guest. That's just lazy porting to me. I know you get sick of your own games after working on them for many years but when you are doing something like a console port or massive expansion/update--you suck it up and playtest it or very least pay someone to do it for you. (Playtesters are dirt cheap btw--often times doing it for near free)
They had reviewers play the game before it became a public branch on the Switch and guess what? They said it was crashing too! So they were aware of it before they released it. Didn't say a word either--just quietly took our money. You can defend that too, seems sleazy to me.
Would love for them to prove me wrong. I understand how even a single bad review is for indie devs (though they are borderline imo). I am not out to throw unwarranted insults or destroy reputations because I know how hard it is to earn them. Maybe they became complacent or they forgot. Happens. Money does the strangest things.
Until then, yea, they deserve the thumbs down and warning to other Switch buyers that it's a broken game from lazy devs that they should avoid.
My goal isn’t to defend the devs or the game. It just makes me uncomfortable watching you jump to such an extreme conclusion with only assumptions. But, I do understand that you’re entitled to your own thought processes, and this is all really subjective in nature.
Give this a little time. If these folks don’t give an adequate response, and aren’t planning on a fix. I’ll gladly agree with you. They may have developed/ported my favorite game, but that doesn’t make me their mindless minion. However, jumping to conclusions so soon doesn’t feel right.

Hello!
Thank you for your message. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
We are aware of the issue that is happening to some players. PS4 has already been patched, and the fix for the Switch will come out as we get approved. The process of updating Nintendo games takes time because the company takes it's time to review it.
Kind regards,

Happy to know it's being fixed. Thanks for the updates Das B and your attempts on damage control. Pity the devs never once took it upon themselves to do that but am sure they're grateful to have you for sure.
Will remove my negative review for this game soon as patch rolls out as it'll no longer be valid.
