Yeah totally, it's the closest match, definitely worth it.
At the time of posting I am 39 years old and have been into computer/video games since I was a young child. AAA games are very impressive compared to what I grew up playing but there is something missing in AAA games that you sometimes get in an indie title and was present more often in the game I grew up with.
It is a certain 'je ne sais quoi' that lies somewhere between the game have been made with love or by fewer people and so there being as closer knit understanding of the core concept and vibe of the game that maybe gets lost when games require ever bigger team.
Maybe it's also that a lower budget leads to a game being seemingly simpler (this could be in regards to size, graphical fidelity/art style. sounds etc) but actually being better designed and having a lot depth from that well planned and delivered idea.
Anyway - DotE is one such title and IMO so is this:
