Skroig fits into just about any team composition, he's fast, Red Plume might be the best activated ability in the game and will never not be useful, he's a native so he can catch up in levels faster, if you're strapped for resources you can even just level him to 5 so he has red plume and just use him for that. Disadvantages is he is a bit dependent on aftershave to stay alive in some comps or against certain enemies since he can't wear armor.
Ken somehow manages to be a massive liability while also maybe kind of being the best character in the game. He is designed to hold off waves by himself but when you get to late game this will often be impossible, and he needs items to be really effective. However he has high ranged damage and a movement speed higher than 2 which makes him a godsend in later levels because he can quickly get where he's needed and make an impact as well as being one of the best to go after keepers. Adding to this that he learns repair makes him seem broken sometimes.
Honorable mentions would be Nanor or Troe (can be hit or miss depending on comp), Kaspar(lacks damage), Elise(needs items) and Rakya(lacks mobility).
Dishonorable mentions are Joleri, in late game where you live and die on dust she causes you to have less of it so I hate her and never use her. Sara, she is over specialized for opening doors, if you already have someone who opens doors then she's not very useful.
Special mentions
Golgy, he just sucks and is almost impossible to make useful or keep alive in the long term, however the ability to aoe slow and his decent speed makes him a pretty good placeholder until you find someone better.
Depending on your situation and setup Dell, Gork or Misha will either get you killed or save your hide.
