Emergency generator and operating

Do you get more dust and more often find it when exploring with a emergency generator getting operated on? Or what’s the purpose of operating the emergency generators?

Operating EG gives you 0.5% chance per Wit on the character who operates to find Dust on the level. Doesn't seem to increase Dust drops from monsters.

@77 Actually it's one of the best things to operate in the game. Consider that characters have around 10+ wit. Just from 10 wit alone and operating you get not only one room lit, but a +5% chance to get 1 dust from each monster you kill. Now consider the amount of monsters you get each floor. The dust chance is already pretty low, but that extra +5% actually helps a lot. I know personally because I operate the gen whenever I can on my own time. I get a whole lot more dust that way. If you're operating with a character like Elise on the other hand that chance is a lot lower because she's not centered around operating.
