Besides taking the NES games, Spy vs SPY and giving it new graphics, how have you improved upon the original mechanics?

Looking at the SCORE section of the manual indicates the map subtracts -50 points for the first time it's used. I want to go for a high score, but opening the map to see where all the doors/items are is incredibly vital to finding each item first. Checking every stash spot manually is incredibly slow, however - and not knowing where doors are can result in being dead-ended. I'm afraid of using the magic smoke to teleport out, since I could easily be lost again (exempting the map with the central "boxed ar...
