NFS SHIfT - Game Crashes on start of race?
Hi All- Firstly my specs are as follows - Intel Quad core Q9550, 8gb ram - XFX hd 4890xxx, Win 7 64bit, Black ops Mobo. I have installed NFS Shift, and on the game just about to start the race, the game chrashes. Its makes a loud sound juddering, then game freezes then goes to a windows that says NFS shift encountered a problems and needs to close. So frustrating. Anyone got any ideas? All drivers upto date, even uninstalled latest drivers and reinstalled them, inc gpu card. any help would be appriciated. Jason :)

I think I found a fix for the crash at the start of race. Its the PhysX issue. I went and got the latest PhysX file from Nvidia, PhysX-9.14.0702-SystemSoftware.msi, and loaded it. This was even after I loaded the latest Video drivers from Nvidia with PhysX build into the driver bundle. This may be a old post, but I did not see too many fixes like this, so thought I would pass it on.

You can get the file here: http://www.nvidia.com/object/physx-9.14.0702-driver.html

I could not find this fix anywhere, but it worked for me.

This is a fun game/simulation and in the mid winter while my car is hibernating, I like to take it out to get my winter driving bug fix.

did you re-check your steam files, usually steam errors are due to files not downloading properly i just got gtr2 and funny no textures on the cars re-checked the game and 3 files failed to verifiy

a known bug. Just install PhysX

I still have this issue despite having the version of physx installed. I also have the patch(es) and the DLC with the game unpacked, and it still crashed.
