Find cd key

there is no "show cd key" in menu when you right click the game in your library. I looked in registry where they said to look and the only key is the key for shift 2 unleashed (confirmed since I matched it with the actual origin key and also show cd key on steam for shift 2. any hints to find the key for shift 1?

Are you sure you looked well into the registry?
I just searched mine and it's there.

Here is the path for Windows 32 bit:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Electronic Arts\Electronic Arts\Need for Speed Shift\ergc

and here for Windows 64 bits:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Electronic Arts\Electronic Arts\Need for Speed Shift\ergc

yeah I went to that exact location. when I look at the value, it matches the one I have for Shift 2.

Try uninstalling Shift 2, install only Shift 1, play for a bit, quit and check the adresses given by Roguetwo (depending of your windows version). Worked wonders here. Now I have both in Steam and Origin.

Wow, you are right. The key on the registry is the same than the Shift 2 key.
Now I remember I have Shift 1 in Origin because I bought a retail copy many years ago and I added it to the EA download manager (the old version of Origin).
Weird, I hope that uninstalling Shift 2 fix your problem.

did not. I uninstalled both. reinstalled shift and looked. it did not update the registry. so I'm ok with it. it's only a backup copy on origin, so no big deal. thanks anyways for your advice

I tried to activate the key NFS Shift (that is found in the registers) in Origin, but an error occurred. Key NFS Hot Pursuit activated normally.Why I can not activate the key NFS Shift in Origin?
And another question. I've heard that the number of activations is limited and that there is a utility to cancel the activation. Is that true? If so, where you can find a utility deactivation?

upon uninstall, it should automatically run the deactivation.

Hey, I found something that may be the Shift key.

In the registry, use the search function and search for "TestApp24870". It should be under Software/Valve, inside a BIG numbered folder (or at least it's like that for me). At the right side there should be a key.

Tell me if this work.

Just looked. no TestApp24870 shows up under Valve or subdirectories. 24870 does but nothing in it.

Mmm if you save any picture in Shift using F12, are they saved in a folder called "24870"? (Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\yournumberhere\760\remote\ 24870 <-- this one here \screenshots)

If it's another number instead of 24870, try searching in the registry for "TestApp" and the number of the folder.

EDIT: Now that I think about it, it should be 24870. Even this discussion is under that number xD

this worked for me to get the key but it says it's already redeemed. unless it was not a unique key or someone already guessed it. oh well. thanks for replying to this. I never saw the old replies with this new fix.
