Insane AI handling - Duels

Am I the only one struggling on car duel races? In normal modes like drift, time attacks or every single one i'm pulling up a strong gap while leaving spaces for AI, meanwhile in car duel races - AI is just going rubberband mode and i lose MASSIVE SECONDS on a single corner. I hate to play dirty but even with pushing them off the track and get +3s advantage they still gonna catch on me and reduce the gap to +0.2s and use the opportunity on weird ass racing line, going like 2x faster on a corner while i'm pushing to the limits. Any idea how to fix this issue? I'm pretty sure it's not a skill issue hahahahha :D

No, not alone. On the higher difficulties it feels like it cheats or has a much better car.
Maybe it does not, but it gets massively better results than the other computer drivers in the rest of career mode.
