game doesnt start, need solution

help, game doesnt start, it shows a quick second of load screen, but then just goes minimized and never comes back up, task manager doesnt even see it as an open application but does see it as a process. need a solution, shift 2 unleashed works perfectly fine


specs are:

msi-gt70 2od

windows 7
intel i7 4700mq
nvidia 780m
16 gb ram

controller: logitech g27

Seems to be something with using an updated version of PhysX instead of using the one that came with the game. It works for me, so my PhysX must be their version.

not sure if i can roll back versions that far since my gpu and cpu are too new from the game

If EA would have gotten off the asses and did some updates, it shouldn't be an issue. But this is EA we're talking about. You would have to uninstall the current version and Shift, and do a reinstall of Shift, and it should just auto install their version.

already reinstalled and same effect, and what do you mean auto install their version?

well maybe if i contact them again like i did for mass effect 2 dlc issues ill get it on origin for free just like me2 deluxe, along with a discount code to the origin store and maybe a fix

Usually when you install a game from steam, it will install something like gamespy acarde or some sort of DirectX, I would guess PhysX should be up one of these things too.

since I see this same topic all over the place I will just copy paste my last few entries to this discussion also:
or you could try this, first go to the .exe in this discussion shift.exe select properties. click the compatability tab I think it is down near bottom select run as admin, click apply then head over to your documents clickie under start button locate the NFS shift folder open it and there should
be a file named grapicsconfig.xml delete that file and restart your game the auto config might have tanked, game will make a new one soon as it launches ie black screen box upper left for 1 second should now launch full! and game should start fine. if it does not fix it then you can allways go to your recycle bin and restore that file and wonder why your game dont start because it is machine related, and prolly not the games fault.. I hope this helps good luck!

not sure if it is machine fault since it's a common issue, ill check again when i get a bit too bored of undercover, and its low traffic count, my 1tb hard drive is filled so i cant check now

found a solution, compatibilty in xp mode sp3, or turn off afterburner and rivatuner
