Need for Speed: SHIFT

Need for Speed: SHIFT

Crashes after career intro.
I did Google and there are plenty of topics on this subject but nothing I've tried worked. I did delete the XML thing, try setting windowed to 1, etc.

Well, ♥♥♥♥ be crashing. I'm using Windows 7 64 bit and I have a GeForce GTX 660 TI. I've kept hearing that the game used to have issues with ATI cards, but my last build was Windows Vista 32bit and I used an ATI card and it was fine. Any quick solutions I could try? Also odd: It doesn't seem to register that I have a 360 controller plugged in. I can use it, but the directions are still for the keyboard.

I had the same problem and solved it by installing the latest PhysX drivers from Nvidia.
Then when I wanted to play Shift 2 Unleashed, same problem, crash after career intro, same solution PhysX installed again, game ran.
This is a pretty serious problem which EA ignores to correct and Steam doesn't adress to EA, ultimately its probably Nvidia's fault for supplying drivers that overwrite newer ones.

As for the Xbox controller, you can cycle through different controllers in the options where you can configure controls, the Xbox360 controller should be one of them.

Worked like a charm! So EA still "ships" it with an incompatible version of PhysX? Awkward. Well, I haven't tried the controll thing, but I trust this will be correct as well. Thanks, mate! Solved my problems.
