problem with launching the game at the Origin

"There is a problem connecting to a server. Please ensure your internet connection is active. If the problem persists try again later" i always got this message while trying to run the game at the Origin. i restarted my net connection, even reinstalled the game and launched it as an admin. any clues about what to do? i would like to get help with that cause the game is great and now i cant even run it because of this damn bug...

I have this as well. In my case, I have previously had Shift installed and working via Steam, recently also purchased it via Origin and am now unable to launch it there. Is that the same situation you are in?

I *think* it is because the licence / 'cd key' for the Steam version is still registered somewhere on the system, and it is different from the one Origin expects. As of yet I haven't been able to find a way to 'deregister' the Steam version or any other solution, so if anyone is reading this, any help would be welcome..!

hey mate. i already solved the problem. the problem is the old paul.dll and winui.dll file, you gotta replace it with the new ones. i have that files and game is working well. if you want i could send you the link to this files. if it wouldnt help, i dont really know whats the problem.

You're right! I copied the files over from my Mirror's Edge folder and now the game starts again, thanks! Do you have a link to or more information about what is going on, is Origin currently deploying a broken version of the game?

well i saw a lot of people have this problem on mac and windows with sims3, crisis, nfs shift and some games with the same error occuring. probably problem with files as some are 8-10 years old and EA makes a lot of new games now. just look at EA help HQ and see the topic with the same problem i guess you will find some
