Is there a way to downgrade the game to version 1.4?

i don't play online a lot, and since i've enjoyed the battlefield 2 training mode, i don't like the fact of not being able to use commander support during the match thanks to the 1.50 patch.
Fixing this issue on the disc version it's easy, but it's possible to downgrade the steam version of the game to version 1.40? -tnx

No, all Steam updates are final, unless the authors revert the update.

ok, tnx...that's a shame though...i've always enjoyed playing singleplayer with the ability to use the commander support without playing commander by myself...i really don't see the point in allowing to use a feature and then remove it for no apparent reason...i mean the game was and it is a successful game, they have no reason to cripple the singleplayer/offline portion to push players to play online...right?
