This is the server list for Project Reality. Seems there are 3 nearly full servers at 11am, EST. Not bad. Haven't played it myself though yet.
I was describing my experiences with {LINK REMOVED}Battlelog . Looking at the serverlist for BF2Hub[www.bf2hub.com], it seems a lot more promising. Checking GameRanger now, it's mostly CoD4 and Warcraft III.
While the above post was made 9 months ago, to update, at present it is kinda hard to play online on Gameranger.
I use both Revive BF2 (http://battlelog.co/) and BF2Hub. But judging from the present situation, for many reasons I very much prefer Revive BF2's community. Their playerbase and number of servers have been steadily growing and continuing to do so. {LINK REMOVED}http://battlelog.co/ has all your BF2 needs, be it files, the full version of the game itself, patches, technical advice, active community, special events etc. etc.
Thanks for your donation to Revive BF2! Much appreciated!
I advise that you contact EA, so that they themselves will confirm that neither BF2Hub, Revive BF2 or any post-Gamespy service is affiliated with them
When Gamespy shut down, EA abandoned the game, decided not to make money from BF2 and stopped all services for the game.
Revive BF2 and BF2Hub are both 100% community created networks to resurrect BF2. Both networks similarly derived ranks and stats from http://spieler-daten.de/ . BF2Hub decided to stay as close as possible to the Gamespy system - but understandably because they are not official and has no affiliations with EA, the rankings and some other aspects of the game won't be 100% like during the Gamespy era, but I don't think anybody should complain because at least people can still have online multiplayer for what would otherwise be a dead game.
Revive BF2 {LINK REMOVED}http://battlelog.co/ similarly derived the ranks and stats from http://spieler-daten.de/, but prefers to not be limited to the Gamespy ways, and wish to bring something new to the game and some things are in development (they have also started the project to revive BF2142).
Apart from these, there are servers which don't subscribe to either networks and have their own ranking system.
EA has absolutely nothing to do with all the present community created networks, stats and rankings. Don't just take my word for it, you can contact them via live chat or email to verify this now: https://help.ea.com/en/chat/initialize/ https://help.ea.com/en/contact-us/new/
In the end, who cares about ranking and stats for what could have been a dead game? We are lucky at least the community have a choice to at least play online :)
I applaud both BF2Hub and {LINK REMOVED}http://battlelog.co/ for their great efforts in resurrecting the game, and enjoy both services, though I have to admit my personal preferences for {LINK REMOVED}http://battlelog.co/ due to a multitude of reasons.
I have been hearing more and more sitive things about this game - I feel that I should check it out. Do you play Insurgency too?
I did mentioned that what revive did was amazing and I supported it. As well I am supporting what they are doing with BF2142. But, when gamespy shutdown I personally called EA's support and asked them for a solution and yes. They told me or to be specific the guy told me to use BF2hub. Was he suppose to do that? I don't know and I don't care. All I know is that he did. I also noticed that BF2hub servers are the only ones that have the ranking enabled in the browser. Go in the game and filter the ranked servers and watch the BF2revive disappear and you will only get BF2hub. For example my ranking in BF2hub is intact. I am not missing not one thing and with revive I am missing all my badges. Another thing why I use BF2hub is cause I can use my steam overlay. With revive I couldn't cause it uses another launcher. But, that is my taste. Now I'm sorry if I don't continue this argument. I don't see why I have to explain my self why I like something and why I use it. You do what you can and hope people use your software. But, don't cut my head off for choosing one that is more to my liking.
I use both Revive BF2 and BF2Hub, and I alone have posted/promoted about BF2Hub on forums at least as much or even more than any one BF2Hub admins (I have many links to prove this, so if you want to see it, I can post all these links in my next post).
But why are you suddenly defending yourself when I wasn't even attacking you?
?
???
Where in my post was any argument/forcing you to do what you don't want? Please quote that part from my post if I did that.
We were having a civil discussion and suddenly you got all upset from nowhere?
If a McDonald's staff told you to get burgers from Burger King, he is right - you can get burgers from Burger King - but it doesn't mean that Burger King is affiliated with McDonalds. Right?
I can claim that I just played golf with EA's CEO Andrew Wilson, but as long as there is no evidence, anybody can say anything. The BF2 community here don't like to be treated like idiots who will just believe anything right?
I am sure you can show us official proof that BF2Hub is affiliated with EA with at least one official webpage stating this.
BUT, The BF2Hub page doesn't show the EA trademark logo or any statement to officially show this affiliation. Also, there is absolutely nowhere on BF2Hub's website claiming that they are affiliated with EA. I think they forgot about this. Why don't you remind the BF2Hub admins and 'the EA guy' that they forgot something?
If you start BF2 with the BF2Hub client -> Revive BF2 servers will be unranked or disappear.
If you start BF2 through the Revive launcher -> BF2Hub servers will be unranked or disappear.
I use both client/launchers according to which network I want, and rank up with stats/ranks/medals for both Revive BF2 and BF2Hub (independently of course). Which part of this makes BF2Hub officially affiliated with EA?
???
Where in my post was I cutting your head off or forcing you to do what you don't want?? Please quote that part from my post if I did that.
I, and on behalf of the BF2 community on this forums, are just asking proof that EA is affliliated with BF2Hub, since you mentioned it - that is not cutting your head off - that is just asking so that you don't treat us like idiots who believe anything without proof. We want to see written proof. That's all.
It is you who is cutting your own head. Don't accuse me of things I didn't do. If I did, quote that part of my post.
Whether or not you can come with a proof/EA is or isn't affiliated with BF2Hub in any way, that means nothing to me and some people, and we are free to like and dislike anything - I will still prefer {LINK REMOVED}http://battlelog.co/ and you will still prefer BF2Hub.
Similarly you can tell the Project Reality community that their game which is modded from BF2 is not affiliated with EA or not 'legit' (as how you like to say it) - but frankly they would not care and say "see you in Project Reality!".
Everybody has rights to their personal taste and I did make that point in my last post - so please don't lie and accuse that I said the opposite - If I did, quote that part of my post.
