BLACK screen problem!!!

when i start the game, just black screen appears and then it brings me back to desssktop. please help lads.

I'm having the exact same problem. I've followed instructions elsewhere and tried everything from installing the 1.5 patch and modifying resolution in .con files, all the game did was worked once (actually got the maps to load and whatnot) and crapped out ever since.

To anyone out there who might have a *definite* fix for this, I'm running Win7 Ultimate, 1280x1024@75Hz and a 1024x768@75Hz second monitor (not that it matters). I've tried literally EVERYTHING. Solutions that worked for other people do not work for me, at least not permanently.

Could be many causes, but one of it can be wrong resolution setting. Go to "My Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles\0001" and delete Video.con file. This will set video settings to default.

If you havne't tried it yet, start the game as administrator

Steam and Origin dont sell the game anymore. You can try search on Amazon (for a long time even they didn't have it - but now it seems that it is back available for purchase).

But since gamespy shutdown, you can only play online on community created network now:
