I spent many hours going through the game to get this save assembled, for anyone curious.

Copy that badboy into your main directory. HOPEFULLY it'll work. (given how picky the game is about save files though it may not, as even just editing the XML causes it to revert it to the previous non-edited save)

Also, I'm assuming the above guy got filtered because of using mediafire or something. Hopefully Steam mods are fine with Google Drive, in that case.

Now I've tried using your file, but the game keeps overwriting at launch. Tried write-protecting it, and game don't work. Any suggestions?

Also never had any trouble with replacing the save file or reports of it not working. Sure you named it correctly (just "save" - no file extension)?

You replace a file called "save" inside the game directory. Make a backup first.

Also possibly use steam in offline mode if cloud save keeps fetching your original first. (not aware of that being a feature though ...)
