So how are you supposed to do these Co-op missions?

I got over 100 hours on the game and have yet to do a single co-op mission... There are all those initial rewards and mission quests that I have just not gotten because it's impossible to find anyone. Since it seems like people only care about overly powerful event co-op stuff, is there just no way to complete all those basic missions, if you haven't already done them somehow?

Just because it says "Match failed" doesn't mean there isn't anyone matchmaking. Sometimes it takes a few tries because it's matching to fill 3-person parties and also balancing for Pwr, levels as well. Or sometimes multiple people are trying to match to the same slot of a party lobby and you just miss out on it.
Sometimes though, when a co-op thing first starts out, most do blitz through the lower tiers to just do the highest one they can, but there's still a few "stragglers". Or just make a private lobby and invite friends in from previous co-op matches. I've regularly seen invites for co-op from in-game friends, and had them join in ones I invite for.

The co-op is very badly done in this game. If you do not get a match within like 10 seconds they should just create two AI team mates. Everybody is grinding on full auto anyways...

I was able to clear all missions by being patient and now am focusing on the event co-op battles. Once your main character's power is around 45k it should become easy to find a match...

Definitely should add in a system where if you get the "Match failed." to have an option to just take in two AI teammates of around your level.
Since the matchmaking kind of relies on every difficulty of every co-op being constantly played...

At the beginning I planned to create two additional Steam accounts just to clear those Co-op missions. But as I said it worked out just fine after a couple of attempts.

May I ask what matches you did not manage to find two co-op partners for?

If a new co-op is introduced try to get going within the first couple of minutes or hours. Also make sure to try at different times during the day. Players seem to be devided into areas and there is almost nobody in co-op during certain times of the day in my case.

I'm mainly referring to the low level fights and how they have those initial rewards, like blue crystals, and I just can't get them because no one cares about the low leveled missions. But even then, I have tried joining event missions more around my level, but I still won't find anyone. So even though my player level is 50 now, I still haven't gotten any of those rewards for doing co-op stuff.

Maybe the players from the US are like in an own universe? I know that I (as an European player) can not see players from Japan.

Edit: At this point in time there are 4 Yuffie Co-Op Battles available. The bottom one I tried to join five times in a row, all attempts failed.

The topmost one I could join on first attempt in like two seconds.

FYI, I am in the US, don't have problems getting coop. Every quest of every tier done without problems. Very very rarely get a retry message, even on low level ones. I know its an issue for many. But it isn't an issue for everyone.
