PHYSX PROBLEM SOLVED!!! [Official since 2013 posting]
Ok, there are 2 ways to fix the installation when it tells you to it can't install the physx (this is usually from people who have the hard copy of the game, i think the steam handles this part ok) What to do is go to control panel and uninstall your existing physx, then install the physx from the disk.

Problem with that, though, is now you have an older version of physx. The second and better way to fix the physx is through NVIDIA itself http://www.nvidia.com/object/physx-9.12.1031-legacy-driver.html This link will take you to the legacy driver, which will help games released around 2007 to work.

Enjoy :D

If this doesn't work, get the steam version, if that doesn't work, sorry you are missing out.

UPDATE: 9/14/13 If the link is not working on your end, type into google two words: PHYSX LEGACY

Hi,

It seem that the game must run with an old version of the PhysX driver (Ageia). I got Nvidia graphic card and the steam version of the game.

I tested the above solution and nothing works for me. Finally here is what I've done to make it works:

- Uninstall the application "Nvidia PhysX" (or something like that) in the control panel. It's a base feature of the Nvidia drivers.
- Install the driver given with the installation files (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Medal of Honor Airborne\install\PhysX\PhysX_7.07.09_SystemSoftware.exe) Windows 64bits version.
- Run the game and it should now be okay.

If you reinstall the Nvidia PhysX driver it will no work anymore, so keep this old version installed during the time you play this game.

I don't know if ATI cards got the same kind of embeded drivers so I cannot tell if it may works for you.

I hope my solution can help some of you.

Okay I did the uninstall of the newer PhysX and let the game install the older version and did the update patch thing to 1.3 now can I install the newer PhysX or should I go with the PhysX Legacy ver 9.12.1031? In other words will it overlay the older one or replace it or what? I use AMD Radeon HD 6xxx gpu so will it make any difference? BTW the game installed and launched with the old version and thanks for that heads up I just want to know if going to the 9.12.1031 will update it or should I uninstall the older version and go with the latter.

If the game stops working after you install a newer Physx driver, then install the Physx Legacy driver and it should work again.
