Weapon attachments, How to remove them?

So i noticed how most upgrades for the weapons in this game are like....extremely unappealing.

So first off theres the magazine upgrades.
Do i even have to talk about an airborne playing al capone with a gangbang style thompson from the 50ies?
I'd prefer the authentic thompson from the time period we're playing in tyvm.

And the dual mag for the BAR and MP40. I mean sure its useful, but it just makes you seem like less of a soldier and more like a mercenary of some sort.
Not really indeal for a good playthrough. Maybe for multiplayer.

And the grenade launcher attachment for the springfield bothers me for 2 reasons.
1 how non canon and absolutely useless it would actually be,
and 2 how plainly unappealing it makes the muzzle look.

Also the scope for the ST44 just bothers me. I'd prefer it with iron sights...

And can we just talk about how useless a bayonet on a shotgun actually is?
i mean....you put a close combat weapon on a close combat weapon.
Does this not bother anyone?

And wheres the iconic bayonet for the k98 ??
And why is there no m1a1 carbine rifle in this game?
thats like THE airborne weapon.

Any way to remove these waffles awfull attachments so i wont hate my playthrough?

I've read online that the ALT button should do so, but that simply doesnt work for me.
The devs werent ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ enough to not make the upgrades optional, were they?

Yuo can remove the socpes and grenade launchers, go in controls menu , fire section , you will see something like Cease fire or things like this , it's the last control u can't wrong. Put a key ( I used H ) and enjoy removing your upgrades :P

idont have the game installed but i remember when i played the game i disabled all upgrades from a "config" file. the file was named "weapons" i think. then you will find something like

appgradenumberlevels=3 or something like that. you replace 3 by 0. and you play the game with no upgrades(truly authentic feeling)."it does not affect anything in the game saves, textures...) hope it helped you.

No, thats the Alternate fire button. Switching between the attachment and the gun with grenade launcher for example.

I want to remove the upgrade entirely. not just, 'Not use it'.

I'VE SEARCHED in the game INI config FILES since 2010 or .....

1- GO to folder : unreal engine3 ----- MOHAgame ----- config ----- default weapon.

2-search for " EXACTLY" NumExpLevels=3.

3- NOW in order to play the game WITHOUT ANY upgrades TURN NumExpLevels=3 into
NumExpLevels=0.

4- THERE IS MANY NumExpLevels=3 for each weapon . YOU NEED TO FIND THE FIRST ONE in order TO TURN OFF the upgrades. and DO NOT TOUCH the others of each weapon.

5- and don't forgett to save the file BEFORE you do those ajustments . because you can't play multiplayer.

i just installed the game again and i changed them to 0 . and it worked for me .

try to replace all of them to 0.im playing in ORIGIN may be there is some diferences with STEAM i dont know.

I've got it! Tchouikof got it right, but this just makes the upgrades impossible to get, it doesn't remove them. I started new campaign, which resets all your XP and now I'm not getting them. Many thanks to Tchouikof for suggesting it tho.

what happens if you do just turn off specific weapons from upgrading?
