medal of honor airborne sound issue

I just installed MoH Airborne for old time's sake. I am experiencing echoing sounds when I there is heavy fire or explosions, does anyone know the best way to fix this?

go into the folder of MOHA and start the setup thingy and choose lower sound quality or try to play more with the settings
