Can't find Mithril Ingot for Gather Spell

To craft the gather spell I need a mithril ingot, but I can't craft it since it is after the gather spell in the craft tree.. So where do I find a mithril ingot on the map?

Ingots are crafted from ore.

Spells don't need to be crafted in the tech tree mode, only in the sandbox mode. In the tech tree mode, they're unlocked with quests.

This is an issue because mithril ingot is used to make the spell, yet the ingot recipe is not learned until after you do the spell in the tech tree. I am uable to move forward until I just bought one from the shop for 10 gold. The tech tree needs to be reordered for this section.

the spells do not need to be crafted. as soon as they are unlocked in your tech tree you can go to craft --> equipment scroll all the way to the last page and you have it, just cast and viola you move on.

you cast that spell, just cast it. after that, it will unlock recipe for mithril ingot

As it's been pointed out, though, you weren't asked to craft the spell. Only cast it.

Read the quest notes again -- the moment you get to the spells in your crafting tree, you're asked to cast them (and you automatically get it in your inventory when you hit I). It's easy to overlook, but you certainly don't need to buy anything from the shop for any reason if you don't want to.

My Improvement Mod changes the order of the mithril ingot and that spell, for those who were sweating it and wanted to craft it anyway, but it's not required.
