Dragon at bottom of level?

So does anyone know what that draon at the bottom over the lava does? i havent opened an access point to him yet because im afraid hes gonna spawn some sort of boss fight and my dwarves arent ready for that kinda trouble yet :P Also there are some eggs that keep popping up over the lava and im wondering what thos are as well. any help is appreciated

There are half a dozen dragons at the bottom. My dwarfs bugged out and fell in the lava, so I'm not sure whether you can beat them all yet.

I found 3 dragon eggs at the bottom. Any idea what they are for?

Dragons can be killed, but are very powerful. Eggs are pickable items, but mine all end up in lava since there is no blocks below them to hold them when i discover them (possible bug?). Since my base has teslas at lava level, they usually fly away, so i can't run after them to kill them, but i recon dwarves need to have bows and mithril armor in order to be able to survive the meet, oh and also make sure you have enough floor since their fireballs will expulse dwarves similar to the Yeti puch, but less violently (at least it was last time i fought them, but that was before Yeti punch was introduced).

I killed a dragon the first time I encountered one. I ended up accidentally busting through the floor and he flew up through my mineshaft and began attacking my stronghold from below.

I had dwarves with both arrows and swords attacking him. It had a lot of health and did a pretty hefty amount of damage, but I didn't lose any dwarves in the attack.

Well, that's lucky, because the first time my dwarves were building a floor right above lava and stumbled onto a dragon, he blew some of them in lava...ans some were constantly blown off back before they could attack him...so it all depends on where you're fighting him.

That's true. I had a couple of dwarves fall in the lava, but I was lucky enough to have them climb out before they died. I lost 60+ scaffolds in the process though, I was in the midst of digging as deep as I possibly could when the final floor was covered in darkness,

The eggs currently have no purpose (confirmed with game data -- no recipes, etc.).

i have heard if you kill the dragon, the game crashes

I have heard if you kill all dragons you get a winning "game over" :)

dragons don't really do that much damage(if you have at least a silver chest piece and helmet). But you can't hit them when you take control over the dwarves.

the thread's title kinda gave it away. You entered a discussion about dragons at the bottom of the level & were surprised when people were talking about dragons at the bottom of the level.
don't expect people to cater to your own failings. Also, the dragons aren't that scary as long as you can place some sort of floor above the lava & equip most of your dwarves with ranged weaponry
