How do I place a Hall light?

I don't get it. What are the prerequisites to place a hall light?

Which light? Different lights have different prerequisites. What might be happening is you are trying to place a hanging light as a wall light. I did that with the new hanging ones - not sure what they came with, but 2 wall lights (pink and blue) are part of the set. Then hanging one must have a "floor" to hang from. The wall lights can go pretty much anywhere.

It has to be attached to a "ceiling" tile i.e. underneath a solid block, not a partial brick wall or something like that.
