Most of the furniture/furnishings are for comfort only and not functional. Exceptions include tables (for food), torches and light (for, well, lighting), and beds (for sleeping). Windows can add more light but only during the day. If memory serves that is it except for defensive structures like gates, walls, doors. Oh, and those mining and fighting statues that provide a boost to any dwarves that have mining and warrior skills. And the fountain is supposed to attract critters.
Am I missing anything?
Any point for comfort levels ? Its not like The Sims. They dont even use anything. Waist of resources it seems.
Higher comfort levels increases the speed in which your dwarves heal when sleeping! Very useful to raise! :)
