Why should you keep you tech tree progress when you advance in levels? You would have achieved everything from the beginning wich makes the game quite pointless. And by the way, it doesnt matter if your dwarves know how to craft the stuff as you dont get the same dwarves again...
1. Clicking on an empty grid which required an item will open the location exact location of that item for you to drag.
2. Once you put an item somewhere on the grid, double clicking it will fill every nearby grid which requires it.
3. The latest: once you craft an item once, clicking the button just below the grid will auto-fill it. Click again to craft.
Most of my playtime was when there were only 1 and 2. Most of the recipe can be enjoyable puzzle thanks to no 2. No 1 just help in general. No 3 is priceless when all the ingredients are different and no 2 can't help at all. I don't mind dragging each of them if only once.

Yes I know it's only the first time but even then it serves no purpose.
Any chance someone could make a Mod that does that?
Not sure if DLC is required, but would be shocked if it was.
Auto fills as in: You click the button to craft, the mats appear in the boxes and consumed.
