No resin in the desert world. + Imps should not die.
Good day,

I noticed that I'm unable to get resin in the desert world because the only trees that grow there are palms. As soon as you run out of your supply, you're no longer able to make torches, health elixirs or elixir of fireball. There should be a way to obtain resin, other than from the store in the desert world.

I also noticed that my dwarves shoot down Imps. They do not actually aim for them, but if you have the imp spell active during an attack, they will try to pick up the items that slain enemies have dropped. If your dwarves are still shooting at the enemy, the imps will get caught in the crossfire and instantly die. I don't think this is meant to be.

Thanks,
Bushdoctor.

You can harvest resin from those dead looking shrubs that grow in the desert.

I'm pretty sure I tried that, but I will give it another shot. Thanks!

And I thought you also got resin from palm trees. You can put down more dirt if you want to encourage palm tree growth.

Resin comes from the little spindly bushes, these only grow on sand so you need to level fields of sand and dirt to get trees and your resin supply. cactai give a little water. I still find myself buying the odd bit of resin, water and berries every now and again...

I build a two tier farm above the shelter, one with sand for cactus, bushes, and berries, and one with dirt for palm trees. This also generates animals. I cover the whole thing with stone to keep the dust winds from blowing everything away. Between the farm and the occasional foray to pick up dustwind leavings and wild 'farming' I can usually get every replenishable supply I need. If you build the farm pretty early on you can also protect the dwarves from the baddies, including the storms.

I agree that resin must come from those brown spindly bushes because I did use a lot of it and only noticed I couldn't find any more when I ran out. But my initial supply must have come from somewhere.
The palm trees definitely don't give resin because I've created an entire forest around my base with the green spell and got nothing.

I like the idea of a protected farm Ehyder. I'm gonna build one right now. Thanks!

Now I will have to go back to the desert world to check it out. I was not having trouble with my resin supply so I thought it was coming from somewhere other than just those spindly shrubs.
