Tornados on desert world

Does building a stone canopy not protect from tornados anymore? Whe I first played it the tornado would rise above the canopy but since this update it seems to be ignoring my lovely canopy and still getting down to ground level. Is this intentional? Thanks. :)

i worked for me doing that on the lastest verision.

To start with I was just making a spot close to the stock pile for biulding. Then noticed the tornados went above it so made it bigger

Tornadoes are overpowered atm.

Is there a background, that is not affected by the Tornados? The craftable Backgrounds are all crap at resisting the Tornado, after every Tornado i have to rebuild, beds, ladders and lights.

Without background, I guess stuff can fly out. I got basicly similar building, but with earth/brick walls and all are safe.

i tried a house, experimenting with every kind of craftable background. Nothing works, unless dirt or stone, meaning, you can't build a house just some sorts of junkhills...
I built up a huge house of the red and grey bricks, but the Tornado caught all the ladders, lights an beds. Windows get caught too, well i dont tested the colored ones.

Builf your castle under ground and the Tornado has no effect.

I always used simple (not crafted) stone for the background and the tornado's did nothing anymore. Later I upgraded to bricks and still no problems. But you DO NEED stone or other heavy backgrounds.

if you build your home high enough (my latest was about 25 Blocks high), this doesn't work. I had stonebricks and stone backgrounds for a weatplantation, but it doesn't work. Perhaps its the difficulty, i played on "very hard" mode.
