how to farm unlimited exp.
Want to level your self up? want to have 15 or more dwarves with no effort?
go farm an ant hive. but heres the catch.
as long as you never kill the last ant the hive does not dissapear .
so what you want to do is find a hive and dig down next to it without breaching into the hive . now clear yourself a area to fight below the hive . then with scaffolding or something else . go up to the left or right wall of the hive and breach it one block above floor level. some ants will jump up and down through your new hole to be killed but never all of them. since ants are so darned weak all by themselves or in 2s you can just have your dwarves hang out there FOREVER.
for 40 exp a ant. since this is quite low maintenance you can really just leave this setup alone and go about your buisness gaining booko exp all day and night long.
you can also use earth for easy exp.
since i hate going over 999 earth. i started building a huge mountain with my excess earth. and low and behold i get exp for doing it and re digging it.

But what's the challenge? Ain't that boring?

Much easier to farm XP (but also boring in the end) is planting wheat underground everywhere, wait a little. Then thresh the harvest to grains, don't bother if you come over 999 grains - continue plant, harvest, thresh - that stuff is available endless for no much effort - seems not to need water if planted underground - and you simply have to click-click-click and not to wait for such ant to come into your reach.

The above should be a reason to have such hive dropping some real valuable reward as food that does not need coal for preparation: some honeycombs? Then have a centrifuge-station to get ant-honey?

like i said at the end. set it up right and you dont have to do anything at all. NOTHING. a single ant at a time is harmless. and i dont have to plant ,harvest ,repeat, . your way sounds alot like work.

OK, if you don't like to work for your harvest, use another bug:
Craft as much fire-arrows at possible- or cook a lot of some dish.
As soon as dwarf starts crafting at workbench or kitchen click the red X to cancel.
You get your resources back and can keep XP-
craft again...cancel...

click click click why would i want to do that. can you not read. this is no maintenance. you do it once and its working for the whole damned game. all the time day and night ants pop out. you get 40 exp. over and over and over and over. you dont have to do anything dont you get it?!!!
unbelievable the lack of comprehension.
but to each his own .
ive got better things to spend my actual time on than gaining exp. i prefer to do that automatically.
oh and if you can manage to find a nest right next door to your settlement thats real fast exp.
plz dont mind the troll ppl trust me this is the fastest way hands down to lv up.

I'm here to thank you both for the ways of level. Though ReneMiner seems to lack understanding of your second post as you clearly state that your technique is an idle way of farming exp. However I am to point out that all of those techniques have already been posted on the forums numerous times so there's no need for this.
