My desktop has the following config:
CPU: intel quad core, Q9300, 2.5GHz per core
RAM: 6GB DDR3
OS:Window 7
VID: Nvidia GeForce GTX 560 SE
So, with this config I can run two pretty much all the games without issues (although not at max settings, true).
The game I'm reffering to above has a playtime of 45 hours... It does not behave badly at the beginning but I can't remember when (after how many hours) the performance issue started.
In the end this is a 2d sprite game. Really now... I can give you a lot of examples of resource intensive (real) games that work well.
If it helps anyone, I can share my game save file...
Installed Steam/CTW on my Mac.
CPU: i7 2.7GHz
Memory: 16GB
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M with 1024 RAM
Moved the save from desktop to laptop.
RESULT: 8, max 10FPS during night
So, no doubt that this is a bug or a design flaw.
I would start it again, but I would like a dev to confirm that it does make a difference, because just starting it without any point is useless.
Otherwise I can stop playing until this issue is fixed. I want to play the late game, where I can build my crazy world... that's the fun for me, the beginning part, while it's a lot of fun, is not that interesting... at least for me right now.
Programming wise, each new patch is like a brand new game.
If anyone else experiences this problem, I have found a workaround... thanks to the modding post on this forum, I modified the world file in the main package, and significantly reduced night duration. This way, very few monsters get to spawn until day comes and so, no performance problems.... and I can play the game! :)
I want to move my save file from my desktop (pc) to my laptop (mac) aswell, but I'm having difficulties finding the save directory on my mac.
You said that you did this?
Could you tell me where I can find the save directory on mac?
Thanks
