then gather nearby stone to make a small stone roof and backwall over the base
Then get enough wood / stone for stone axes a few beds and hatches which line the left right tunnel.
Then build a small base at the end of that tunnel
then pick the side of the map opposite the pyramids and scour it into a straight line down to like one layer above sea level
then use that dirt stone to make a line of dirt 3 above that so that cactus/bushes will grow the third row will be a line of log bridges so that I can break root blocks and my dwarfs can still walk across that without falling
then a line of dirt back stone front 5 or 6 above that with a few vertical stone columns every 20 or so blocks to push any tornados that form in side up faster
I leave about 30 blocks between the end of that and my home base to leave room for enemies to spawn
Before this world I had already beat the forest world by getting all 5 portal pieces and going through the portal to here... and from here I'll go through the portal onto the desert world and won't miss the snow and ice, but curious what biome based desert challenges I'll have. My 2 most needed resources (besides coal) are wood and water.. and wondering how much of each the desert will have?
You best get used to terraforming the map a little to allow for more tree growth.
