Not sure exactly how the upgrade part works, but that is what needs to be done. From there it is like entering a portal in campaign I would think, and it is that point the host sets up the configuration. co-op is among the options. Then it should boot up in a multiplayer world set to co-op or what ever option you chose. It will use up to the amount of dwaves you have on your single player world.
Starting out with basics, or what ever is allowed to be brought over into the world. From there it is co-op toward the end goal of the world.
The thing is you have to have the recipe in order to go about multiplayer. So I am guessing in a sandbox world it would mean either inputing from memory or finding it as a drop. You might know when you see it.
Note: This is just guess work from what I have read/heard, as I have yet to check out the newest update. Probably will in time. I am assuming it does not have to be a campaign world, and assuming from deductions of what info I did research. Hope that helps clarify or leads you in the right direction.
As mentioned it will not be multiplayer in the sense that you will be building on your single player worlds, it is more like that is where it will draw dwarves from, and you both will be working within another world that stems from single player.
this is totally crap game design..jezus
its should be...
-- new world
-- both people join (no single player requirements like 5 dwarves)
-- play/build/craft together from start
-- save game
-- next day continue whatever having fun together
we want to play together.... :(
It's very informative in regards of playing the limited multiplayer version that's currently in the game.
That said, like the others I expected it to be co-op like the singleplayer version of the game.
While I applaud the devs to create these missions, it's not really what I want for in Craft The World ;).
I'd prefer if it was possible to just play the singleplayer campaign as co-op.
That would interest me more in this sort of system since it is a way that I could gain some more resources when certain ones run out. Basically an alternative.
However it does seem like it would be a bit awkward doing it that way, but being more likely a meeting ground of sorts just means different. I from the beginning before when they only hinted at multiplayer being put in made me wonder how it would work. There are a lot of factors to consider, especially in this type of game. Roughly a colony builder & tower defense mix. At least the way I see it.
At least they have an option of it, although I do agree with one thing; might have been nice if they had at least an option for a top menu multiplayer where it uses one world period. Having options is always nice, but is tricky making an originally single player game into a multiplayer game, as which was designed for. The way they did it, made is a bit less tricky or rather less demanding in how much would have to be rewritten in order for it to work; As quite a bit of it would be new code that would be along side existing one, practically making the game again.
If they do play to put such an option in the menu I could only see it as being mainly co-op anyway, as pvp comes with other bucket of worms per say. Granted I really don't know if we will see something like that or not, but it would take quite a long time for something like that to even get done, even longer than what it took them to get the current way in.
