How to kill a Giant Worm?

Is there any skill capacity requirement for dwarf to kill the giant worm? When I click to kill the giant worm, the dwarfs do not response.

I had tried to use explosion spell to kill the giant worm, but it seemed fail to work. After I used explosion spell many times, even though the HP is gone, the giant worm still alive. It is bug or something?

I managed to kill a giant worm with the explosion spell. It took quite a few of them and was around 3 or 4 months ago. The new patches may have messed something up.

Or you know, you increase the fireball/magic explosion damage to something like 1000, and then you only have to hit it once.

Explosion does not kill anything. You have to spam explosion to lower its HP, then hit it with a fireball to finish it off.
