Played several hours today on macbook pro / retina (15 inch, late 2013 model, running 10.9.4). Crashed a few times, but was able to start it up again and continue each time. Last crash was about an hour ago. Since then, when trying to start the game I get a black screen, with a pointer visible but nothing happening. Command-Option-Escape does kill it. Tried ssh'ing to the machine to see what was happening. CraftTheWorld process is sitting using 10% CPU, memory usage unchanging. Some times when trying to re-launch it it appears to cause Steam to quit as well (has happened twice out of the 8-10 times I've tried launching it).
Have tried: reboot, deleting save game, deleting the app and reinstalling (Steam "delete local content").
With some investigation I found the following file:
/Users/<HOMEDIR>/Library/Saved Application State/com.dekovir.CraftWorld.savedState/data.data
Removing this file got my game working again, my last save even seems to be intact. I assume the crash is corrupting the file somehow.
However, I also had to delete my custom game that I was in the middle of. Even after file deletion, the game would crash when I tried to load it, with same blurred brown spots where dwarves should've been for a second. I started a new custom and have exited and reloaded a few times and it seems to be working ok so far.
At least that's what all it took to get mine working again. Best of luck.
