Defeated the goblin shaman
I did it! The shaman was not lying when he says he is old and dangerous.

This isn't much of a spoiler cause you'll figure out it the first time you try to hunt animals or cut down wood near him. If you make the shaman angry (or hit him with stray arrows), he summons large numbers of orcs and goblins and rains fireballs from the sky. The fireballs can even destroy terrain, which makes fighting him very difficult.

My first attempt involved 14 dwarves. Solid mithril arms and armour across the board. 4 melee fighters with gold shields, 4 mages and 6 archers with 4 bows and 2 guns. I quickly figured out that his fireballs would only destroy a pit shaped patch of ground. So I decided to withdraw and make some tesla coils. I filled the pit with them and attacked again. This time I managed to get him down to a tiny sliver of health before my stock of mana and health potions ran out.

My next attempt was better prepared. I crafted a huge stockpile of potions, mined the map completetly dry of gold and make as many coils and catapults as I could. I still almost lost, here is the fight in progress. The crossed swords towards the left are the shaman, he turned invisible halfway through the fight, which is some kind of bug. (that didn't happen in the second attempt)

My third attempt took 21 3-level Tesla coils, no less than 50 catapults, 100 health and mana potions, 400 silver arrows (I should have made more) and 265 incendiary bullets. Near as I can tell the Shaman didn't drop anything, or at least nothing unique which was very disappointing.

The Shaman's abilities are extremely overpowered. His fireball shower and summoning abilities increase in power the more he is damaged. The goblins and orcs make it very difficult to target the shaman directly because your dwarves will be too busy fending them off. When he is down to a sliver of health the fireball shower is so dense I was only able to survive them by pausing the game every 5 seconds and healing dwarves manually with potions. The swarm of orcs also increases in size to the point where they were spawning faster than I could kill them, even with 50 catapults and all of those tesla coils.

I think the shaman should be toned down in both HP and spell power about 50% because it's not very fun to fight him as it is. His fireball storm alone is capable of killing any amount of dwarves in seconds, regardless of their mithril armour. He makes every other enemy in the game look like a joke, even the boss monsters from multiplayer biomes.

Here was the aftermath of the fight, this picture shows how many structures I had backing me up. I still lost two dwarves over the course of the fight. The catapult spam was pretty hilarious because they tended to all target the same enemy and they sent dead goblins and orcs flying off the screen. The arena is or was symmetrical, fireballs destroyed most of my tesla coils.

While I was building this combat arena I discovered an irritating bug. Catapults seem to have a hard limit on how many times they will attack the same enemy. So what tended to happen is some orcs would spawn out of nowhere like monsters usually do at the map edges. The orcs would get HAMMERED by 25 catapults for a few volleys which would knock them down to almost zero hitpoints. But then suddenly the catapults stop firing and I had one or two almost dead orcs bashing all of my catapults to bits unopposed. Neither arrow turrets ot tesla coils have this problem.

If he didn't drop anything good, you got shafted by RNG. He's supposed to have four separate rolls with 50% chance each to drop a Jason Mask.
