How dangerous is thiis creature?
I found some underground Biome with a single large green guy in it and wonder how dangerous it is.

My suspicion is that it is an elf from the Grottoes DLC ... but I am not sure.

And before I dig into this Biome and potentially unleash an invincible monster on my poor dwarves I thought I better ask around (unfortunately the CtW-Wiki is hopelessly outdated and doesn't contain any creatures of the DLCs ... so I had no luck looking there).

He is not dangerous, he will actually heal dwarves for you.

Edit: and yes, he is from the grotto DLC

Thanks for the information ... then I will dare, opening his grotto :)

Addendum ... just opened his grotto and found out that he even can do more ... you put an ore (or coal) on his Altar and and after a timer has run down, he will make visible the nearest undiscovered resource of this ore for a short time (allowing you to mark it)

Yes, I have another dlc that marks the ores on the map already, so I find that less useful.

Just a caution, it is kind of easy for this guy to die, and he will follow the dwarves to heal them. I usually try to restrict his movements a bit with blocks and doors (does not always work) to keep him and my dwarves healthy.

I just made the opening to his Grotto 1 tile high ... this way he will stay inside because he is 2 tiles high (obviously he never did calisthenic exercises and isn't able to just bow down and crouch through the opening :D

Regarding the other DLC ... I assume I have this one as well (I guess it came with Bosses and Mopnsters) ... but it only marks those ores which are somewhat close to already uncovered regions of the map (i.e. rservoirs that aren't all too wide into the dark spots of the map)
In contrast to this, the Elf seems to preferably show me ore resources that aren't marked already. So (at least for this phase opf the game, where I have unconvered only a small part of the underground map ... and therefore there are lots of dark patches without ore markings) for me it is quite useful (already showed me 3 previously unmarked iron or reservoires, 1 silver and 1 gold)

I found another creature I never encountered before ... see here:

Anyone knows anything about this?
It reminds me of a huge flying version of the mites, so am I right to assume that it is not friendly?

that is a hive queen. Produces ants at a faster rate. Still dies if you kill off all of the ants in the hive, just like the regular nest.

Edit: it should be available for view now in your bestiary?

That is unfortunate. Ask away on any other creatures you encounter, will try to fill in your knowledge!
