Better armor vs Agility loss

So I can't seem to figure out if losing agility for better armor is that bad or not. I am in the 4th level and with the monsters here, I found better armor is a MUST. But is it causing the killing of the mosters to take longer? What are the actual negative affects of less agility? Anyone have any clue?
