Is that the point of the game? I feel like I went everywhere on the map I can go and I am clueless how to continue. Also there is a piece of wood i cant destroy for some reason, dont know if thats a bug

Just installed the game and I'm unable to figure out the controls for the game. The only message on the screen is press X to open inventory, but on opening the inventory there is no specific step to perform next. I'm also unable to move my character around the screen....
