Turbocharged eh? Guess I might as well give this game another run, just to see how smooth it is for me then. :P
Also having mac issues (Yosemitie 10.10.3). Things are fine until the soudn comes in for the logo (so after about 2 seconds) then the screen goes blank and is just one solid color (though that one color chnages).
Mac Mini with Yosemite (10.10.2) here. I have a video demonstrating the glitch.

It's definitely due to the Steam API interfering with the render somehow. It happens every time exactly when the notification pops up.

My stats in case it's limited to only certain models:
Model Name: Mac mini (Mid 2010)
Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz
Memory: 8 GB
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce 320M
VRAM (Total): 256 MB

Regnareb :
Ha, checked the front of the Steam cards? They say the same. I'm just as annoyed being a fan of PCs that don't have Windows on them. It should say 'Windows' instead.

(Edit: merged all posts into one)
Confirming the same problem under the same conditions as others; I'm running 10.10.3. bebobli's assessment appears to be correct. (For the record, I've got a mid-2010 Macbook Pro, 2.66 i7, 8GB RAM, Nvidia GeForce GT 330M 512 MB.)

I'll try booting from 10.6.8 later and see if that makes a difference; either way, I'd appreciate a fix ASAP. I'd rather not reboot in Windows or Snow Leopard just to play a 2D platformer.

EDIT:
I went ahead and tried it on both Windows 7 and Mac 10.6.8; it works on both, though it's really slow on Snow Leopard for some reason, and the Windows 7 version crashed my computer the first time I tried to run it.
First of all: Thank you so much for bringing this to the *nix folks!

So far things have worked without a hitch on Fedora 21 (nv gtx 560 as gpu) gamepads included. (Though gamepad not working directly out of the box was bit odd choice)

When i have time i'll probably test this on my macbook pro as well (running latest yosemite).
Any word on a fix, yet? It's been a month.
i figured out how to fix the video glitch on mac (possibly linux) goto the game properties and then turn off the steam overlay. they game should work fine then. that being said they should still fix this bug. =\
awesome, added to wishlist
For PC/Mac/Linux???

Oh man, I totally didn't realise my Linux powered (P)ersonal (C)omputer wasn't a PC. Hey, Macs aren't Personal Computers either....

Seriously, start changing that ♥♥♥♥ to Windows/Mac/Linux. :Finger2:
this is why nobody likes linux ♥♥♥♥ luke.
Running great on my SteamOS machine. Kind of dissapointed it didn't pull my controller mappings from Steam like most SDL2 games do on Linux, but after manually mapping them it's working great.
Nice! Will you update the demo?
I purchased the game after this change and had to remap my 360 controller to use the same mappings displayed in the options out of the box, which meant that I had to use a keyboard and mouse to get through the menu (to go to remap controls) upon first install. This might need some attention; it could lead to a pretty negative UX on Steam Machines.
