Kane's Wrath LAN serial number already in use

Everytime i try to join me friends we get the Error serial number already in use. (We use Hamachi) Each of us bought their own pack of the command and conquer collection.

Hey it's for some reason both of you have the same PRODUCT KEY.

had the same issue with %CDKEY% as a value.

To make it work, one of you has to change the key to anything else.

1. win + r -> enter regedit
2. navigate to Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Electronic Arts\Electronic Arts\Command and Conquer 3 Kanes Wrath\ergc
3. change %CDKEY% to anything else.

I changed the key in the regedit.
But everytime I start the game, the key changed again to %CDKEY%.
Is it possible, that steam is changing the key back to "%CDKEY%" whenever I'm starting Kane's Wrath?

try changing it whilte the game is running, if there is a 3. player he can change it to CDKEY% or something

IF you found the right key, and see that it's changing back every time, you need to change permissions on the folder the key is in. Don't allow anyone access and it should be fine.

There is no need to do it with a running game or re-installing or using a 3rd party software like some guides online say.

Been trying to play with my dad and i followed your advice but I cant find the serial number

there is no serial number to find. just a value of &CDKEY& that if playing with two people at least one of you have to clear / delete

its working as long as its different we played with 4 players: player 1: %cdkey / player 2: %cdkey% / player 3: cdkey% / player 4: cdkey%%

i guess you could also write your name in it as long as its different from the person you want to play with XD

did you enter Electronic Arts and than electronic arts again? friend made this mistake

This is still an issue, and we were trying to play on actual LAN connection. It used to work before the collection update.
