Such an amazing tutorial. Thanks man!
it's in german but you can Translate.!
Create a minimap
Your card will work without minimap, but then you have no overview card in the game. To create your outline map you need a graphics program! Change to bird's-eye view with "CTRL + F". First, you have to disable all ads under "View" for example: grid, Show Lables, Show Waypoints, Trigger Areas or Tiberiumfelderradius. "Show Map Bounaries" must be activated. Now you press your middle mouse button (mouse wheel) to center the map, then zoom out with the mouse wheel until you can see the complete orange edge marker (see here :). Now press the "Print" / "Print" button on your keyboard. Make sure the mouse pointer is not inside the map! Switch to your graphics program (here's a tutorial for GIMP) and add the image and cut everything out of the orange border, leaving only the inner (visible in game) area (see here :). Then you have to bring the image to a size of 256x256 pixels and mirror it vertically (see here:, It remains to be noted that it is horizontal in Corel Paint Shop Pro [thanks to CJAnti] - you have to mirror the image from top to bottom, whatever it is titled in your graphics program.). Now you can save it in your map folder as "TGA" (Targa bitmap).
The image must have the following name:
Assuming your card has the name "Kane" then you can find it under: "C: \ Documents and Settings \ YOUR WINDOWS NAME \ Application Data \ Command & Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars \ Maps \ Kane" (if you can not find the folder look here) ,
In your folder is already a "TGA image" name "Kane.tga", your image you save now under the name "Kane_art.tga". So you always have to add "_art" to the name. Now you also have a minimap in the game. You can now re-enable the ads in the World Editor. Of course you have to replace "Kane" with your card name!
