Steel Talons or GDI?
The only reason I can think of to play GDI anymore is the Armory and Advanced Infantry, neither of which I use much [mainly because of my preference for Riflemen and Rocket Squad combos]

Sure, there is the Sonic Emitter and Shatterer that help a ton with CC in the cases of Infantry Ball, but who uses the Infantry Ball aside from Easy/Hard AI?

Care to explain your reasoning aside from Field Suits?

You can set them to aggressive and fly over an enemy base and it just demolished everything in mere seconds. Heavy losses if they invest in AA, but enough of them can get the job done.

Because
GDI, especially for that combo of your's. I know you say you don't use the Armory much but it comes in handy with the upgrade (Composite armor, Militants just die in seconds for example) and how it can replenish squads. That and Steel Talons lack an APC with anti-infantry capability.

I always found APCs loaded up with rocket troops and riflemen to be a deadly combo and with that added anti-infantry of the standard APC just makes that even better.

To me, for someone who prefers infantry GDI would be the better choice.

Steel Talons looks fun but is usually uphill to work with. It can't handle infantry spam and long-range non-artillary units so well, while GDI (and ZOCOM) can.

- Basic infantry offer limited tank support. This also limits the MARV potential
- Titans cost a little more than Predators, can't reverse move and stomping only matters against the AI, which never reverse moves anything. If both GDI and ST have the same money for only tanks, GDI would win by having more Predators.
- Lacks the potent APC, instead splitting it into two barely useful units, the stop-to-shoot Wolverine that barely cost-trades with AP ammo against rocket infantry, and the unarmed repair vehicle. Neither can hit air units.

But you have a reason to use Pitbulls. Plus Titans can be used late game where Predators can’t. Same for Wolves and APCs. MRTs, I’ll admit, are “meh” but can be used to save your economy a bit of pain. And allow you to be more aggressive.

Though you make good points about the lack of infantry, a crippling weakness. ST is the experimental weapon division of GDI, so it should have some kind of experimental infantry stuff, too, right? Like rail guns for Riflemen, or maybe laser rifles?

Not that it’ll change now.

The lack of Sonic Tanks is also disappointing, I’ll admit. Sonic Tanks shred infantry, whether balled or not. A level 3 Sonic is death incarnate, both defensively and offensively.

Tbh, I never used the MARV as anything but a self healing defensive meatshield as GDI/ZOCOM anyway. While Raiders are nice in it, as are Troopers, it just isn’t that great imo. Loses to every other epic unit 90% of the time.

Wut? Preds can't be used late game? I have the opposite of feelings here.

They cost less than Mammies and thus are able to be massed, they have the railgun upgrade and have a higher movement speed. They work well as a rapid response unit.

Hell, as Nod I used nothing but Raider Buggies and Attack Cycles for my vehicles against the Hard AI and they worked.
