Overpowered AI
Seems like something went wonky here. Right after Night Ops, everything was good, but now its reverted back to pre-update. I just got killed in FN by a dude in a IIA helmet after dumping 30+ rounds into his head and neck, but he snapped directly to me and shot me straight in the eyeball. It seems the AI have aimbot for eyes, because the only time I die is by one-taps directly to the eyes. It wasn't just me shooting the guy either, I was with a buddy who was also dumping PS7.62 into him, and he shot us both within a half a second, and both hit directly in the eyes. Something has got to give here, it's getting ridiculous having to fight bots and standing no chance, no matter how far away or how accurate you are.

Right after night ops the ai was to OP. couldnt even go near FN and MS. they tweaked it lst week now i think? its not perfect but its deff better than right after the update. I solo and my best advice is slow way the heck down. your not rambo. your not god. slow and steady wins the race here

"Dumping 7.62 into him" well mate there's your problem. Actually aim for a change, one round on the nape and if the bot doesn't drop put 2 in his chest, single shot only. You'll come to find full auto is obscenely unreliable and is just a loud waste of ammo. As Stoney_ above says, slow down and make your shots count. I literally just solo'd Fort Narith with an SKS one tapping every bot i came across. Nothing wonky going on.

For one, the benefits you get from night operation end as soon as an enemy goes into an alert state. I had a trooper shoot at me through a tanker truck. Line of sight and visibility conditions are for suckers and players, not AI.

Secondly, if you're a good shot, use AP rounds. If you're not, use hollow points, shoot center of mass, and hope you hit somewhere between the helmet and the vest. If you have the advantage of being able to take time to aim, aim for the head. Even HP rounds can penetrate helmets, and HP rounds are more forgiving if you don't hit dead center due to its fat damage profile. You can graze them on the neck and clip brain+lung with HP rounds. Armor pen rounds can be a trap, since you still have to hit vital organs to drop an enemy, and their body armor can and will stop AP rounds on a regular basis. Plus, the damage profile on AP rounds are laser-thin, so you don't be getting any collateral damage. You HAVE to hit vital organs with AP ammo or you're just dumping shots into a guy that isn't going to die before he bleeds out who is going to keep shooting at you until you both die.

third, break line of sight and engage at a different angle. Hit and run works great on the AI, since it tracks where you were, rather than where you are. They will dump rounds into corners it thinks you're hiding behind, which will hit you if you don't move. This is something of a re-peek counter behavior. Disengage, break LOS, re-engage from a different angle. They will still be facing the new direction as long as they can't track your sound. Bear in mind other AI will shoot through walls and bushes at your position if you fire multiple shots from a single spot.

Fourth, if you're dueling with an AI around a corner, use a grenade rather than charge/peek. When the AI has your position at close range, they will not miss and they will open fire the nanosecond they have a shot. This can actually suck kinda bad when you need to throw around a corner, and suck unholy donkey nuts if that staircase is a right-hand turn.

Fifth, the AI does seem to lose a lot of accuracy when suppressed. This doesn't do you any favors since he's probably suppressing you and smearing lotion on your screen, but it does provide a squad-mate an open opportunity to take shots (as long as they aren't standing right behind you).

Good tips. But HP rounds will do anything to military AI outside headshots?
I have to seriously complain about the game now

You waste all your credits in this game just on the overly strong AI. When you consider that you got $80,000 in credits and now only have 5,000 credits left, I think it's a complete waste of time if you can't finish your quests here and there because something is missing here and there. You only have one chance to start again and again. In my opinion, the makers have really messed up here. XP points increase so slowly that you can hardly get good equipment. Weapons wear out so much that you have to keep buying new parts.

I think a lot of people are focusing too closely on minute stats that don't mean anything. So they're buying this expensive gear for like a 3% increase to handling, for example. I'm up to Fort Narith and I'm still using an M4 that cost less than 6k to make and is at 40% durability now.

This is not about the durability of an M4, which is around 40%. It is about the fact that a lot of things are far too exaggerated. Who in real life shoots 30/60/90 shots at a person who is then dead? Nobody!

The fact is that if you die a lot, lose your equipment, get back there and get shot again, the body is gone. So buy new ones. And if you have to keep buying new things, can't maintain weapons and have to buy new parts, you can start the whole thing over again because you have nothing left afterwards. The whole focus is just on collecting keys and documents.

And if everyone wanders around in the same place and you don't even hear the enemy, others shoot like idiots. You can still recognize who is shooting. It would be great if you could see the other factions on the map too, with a different symbol color, for example. The game isn't bad in that sense, just poorly implemented.

I have to start this whole mess all over again because I can't really buy any equipment anymore.

The route to your body should be clear and the AI have lost aggro by the time you get back. Unless you were in the very thick of things, you can crouch walk right up to your body without being seen. If you were in the thick of things, you over-extended yourself and got surrounded to the point that you can't get to your body.

I have only lost one weapon to a second death since 2.0 dropped. Retracing your steps is very safe and reliable and you can sprint up tot he last fifty meters or so, depending on your location.

I posted a video earlier of me dying in FN, and sprinting back to my body to get my stuff.

Are you playing PVP and just going out to loot?

If you do tasks, most will reward you with weapons and gear you can use. Right now I have 7 UNTOUCHED M4s (just counted) that I've acquired by completing tasks. I sell any AKs, MP5s, M700s, or shotguns the vendors give me.

I currently have $349,636, so it's clearly not a problem with the game.

While you're out, pick up any Ratnik AKs. They're worth $1k each. Loot the dead AIs for ammo, credit cards, jewelry, etc. But mostly, do the tasks. They pay you, give you gear you can use, and give you gear you can sell. There's no reason anyone should run out of money/gear.

I loot them, but I only have a small backpack that doesn't bring in much

Go to Hunter's Paradise with the HP Wep key. You can get a patrol pack there with minimal trouble. 4x5 IIRC, so if you go and fill that with optics and other loot, you are bringing back a good amount of cash.

AI...
It is an understatement at how bad this AI is for a PVE focused game.
Yes this is yet another thread post at how unfair the AI is toward the player.
Inhuman reaction times, logical sense, example, shoot AI multiply times, still standing yet they one tap you and your dead. I don't mind the ole one tap RNG but it happens WAY to often.

I plead with MFG to focus on the making the AI, less aimbot and actual give the player a challenging but FAIR chance when fighting.

To many times you're just getting instant killed without any time to react. Sometimes the AI works "fine" but to me that is a rare thing. Most of the time it's just one tap insta dead.

What an absolutely frustrating experience.
