NVIDIA users update your apps and override game to dlss 4!
The improvement to the frame gen and quality is great, went from 110 fps at spawn using frame gen and dlss balanced. Override to dlss 4 and now at dlss performance better fidelity and 124 fps now!

It's for 40 series cards and higher.

DLSS frame generation is the only thing locked to 40-series and above. The new transformer model for upscaling should work on all RTX cards, unless maybe there is some weirdness with mobile variants or insufficient VRAM.

i have RTX 3060 laptop GPU, i downloaded the driver, but i cant set the override settings, it keeps saying its unsupported, what should i do?

See my post near the top. Make sure the nvidia app is updated and try refreshing the game within the Program Settings of the Graphics tab.

Right. My mistake. It said RTX. I forgot RTX is 30 series or better. Keep thinking RTX started with 40 series.

I have a question:

If I turn my resolution to 2160p and switch on DLSS quality, the 3D model resolution drops to 67%.

So for image clarity sake, am I better with 1440p at 100% with no DLSS, or with 2160p at 67% with DLSS ?
I don't understand...

Plus, I just updated the driver and refreshed the application as mentioned above, but I still dont see where you turn on DLSS4, I have a RTX 4070.

The option is located under "Graphics" > "Program Settings" > [Game Title] > DLSS Override under "Driver Settings"

Hypothetically they should both perform similar, however if your monitor's native resolution is 2160p, then I would absolutely stick to using that and DLSS. Running an odd resolution in fullscreen can warp stuff, unless you disable scaling in which case you'll be stuck with black bars so there will still be some compromise.

One exception would be if you have lower VRAM, 12GB is probably pushing it if you also use frame generation, and you'd ideally want at least 16GB for 2160p. Also some people are so adverse to any upscaling, but the new DLSS4 transformer model should be visually a lot more stable in motion.

Click on the "overdrive model presets" setting shown in the above picture. Select "Latest" for the model. "Latest" is the K preset, which is an improved J preset.

I don't think there's any setting in GZW's graphics options that need to be changed since the Nvidia app is overriding the game's settings.

Did some quick testing with a 4070super/5800X3D, 1440p, DLSS performance and FG enabled. I won't talk about visual quality, but as far as performance numbers for Default vs. "Latest":

  • FPS was the same for me or within margin or error around the base and even when using ADS PiP (also seems to be verified in the new 3DMark DLSS test for 3 vs. 4)
  • PC Latency using Preset K/Transformer as measured with Reflex in game was ~10ms higher just standing/moving, and maybe up to ~20ms higher when ADS.

I think for 40-series cards, having the hardware based optical flow accelerator for the old DLSS 3 CNN makes a huge difference in reducing overall latency with upscaling+FG. If you're on a 20-series or 30-series (and maybe 50-series) it may not make a difference, and maybe Reflex 2 will fix some part of this if it gets implemented. For now though anyone with a 40-series may want to use the nvidia app statistics overlay and compare PC Latency between Default and the "Latest" override if you're already happy with the visuals and performance at your current settings.

I am confused about that DLSS4 stuff. I enabled Model Presets and Super Resolution DLAA 100% in the app however the option Frame generation is graced out and the info says its only enabled for 50 series. In the game i got about 40fps dropped and its felling i play at 60Hz and not 144Hz any more. Any recommendations?

The process for enabling DLSS4 FG from Nvidia's site:

To upgrade DLSS Frame Generation to the new, more performant AI model:

-Ensure DLSS Frame Generation is activated in the program, and then exit to the desktop
-Select “DLSS Override - Model Presets” in NVIDIA app
-Select “Latest” under “Frame Generation”, then click “Apply”
-Reopen the program

As for the FPS drop, change one of your graphics settings in-game, hit apply, revert the change, and hit apply again. That corrects the FPS reductions for me.

If you go into your computer's display settings you can adjust the HZ on one of the "advanced" screens. I don't remember what the option is called but it isn't hard to find.

I wouldn't worry too much about it though. You'll only get increased FPS if you lower your resolution. According to Nvidia, the increased FPS comes from being able to use a lower quality DLSS setting to achieve the same visual result. Notice OP said the 14 FPS came when he switched from "Balanced" to "Performance" quality. If you intend to play at the same settings your FPS will be unchanged or slightly lower.

I tested in GZW and my FPS remained the same. I tested in Cyberpunk's benchmark and the new model lowered my FPS about 5%.

uninstalled with ddu. downloaded newest driver and nvidia app. put dlss override to "latest" and dlss super resolution to 100%. fps dropped from 80-95 at base to 50-60fps? i want my fps back i dont know what all the settings those changed. how do i revers them? did i change some of my in game graphic setting too? i have RTX 3080

When I arrive at home tonight, i will do a clean DDU uninstall of drivers and install the new version again, cause yesterday i had some bugs on my quality image in game, and fps drops that i never experienced before and i have a RTX 4080 Super, and seems something was wrong with my graphics
Fleetwood 2025년 1월 31일 오전 5시 19분
For some reason when changes are made to the game it drops the FPS. If you make another change and then reverse that change in your in-game graphics settings the FPS should return to normal.
Warmech 2025년 1월 31일 오전 5시 58분
Since there's confusion here let me try to clear it up a little. Using the "Latest" overrides for DLSS 4 Super Resolution with the same in game DLSS upscaling settings as you previously did in most cases will not magically improve your FPS, especially if you are on an older 20-series or 30-series card.

The transformer model that "Latest" uses is MORE computationally intensive to run, and typically you should expect to see lower FPS at identical upscaling settings (ie: quality vs. quality). See here[www.techpowerup.com] and here[www.techpowerup.com] for some charts and examples (CNN = DLSS 3, Transformer = DLSS 4).

What DLSS 4 and the "Latest" override primarily does, as designed by nvidia, is increase the visual quality and motion stability of DLSS. The FPS increase that you may see mentioned online comes from the suggestion that with DLSS 4/"Latest" you can now run a lower upscaling setting such as Performance, and possibly get higher FPS and lower vram usage at the same or better visual quality as the old DLSS 3 Quality. Also either of those options will still perform better than Native, just want to clear that up before someone misunderstands.

Image quality can be highly subjective though and it's something you'll need to test with your own eyes and PC. Also see my other post above about 40-series and PC Latency. It's possible in certain scenarios or bottlenecks that "Latest" for frame generation may help performance, but I haven't experienced it.

So a couple things are going on here.

GZW already supports DLAA via in game settings so there shouldn't be any override needed. Honestly not sure why it's even in there, it may just be a blanket option that gets added to anything that supports DLSS right now.

I think the Frame Generation option that you're talking about (if it's the one between Model Presets and Super Resolution) is for multi-frame generation x3 and x4 modes which is exclusive to new 50-series cards. Overrides for the typical x2 frame generation that the 40-series supports is still under Model Presets.
Fleetwood 2025년 1월 31일 오전 6시 37분
The poster above that claims a 30-35% increase in FPS with the same settings probably selected the "Ultra Performance (33%)" option in the Nvidia DLSS Override - Super Resolution setting. So they're playing at a much lower resolution than before (480p ish?), which is why the FPS increase is so steep.

Or their GPU is a freak that should be sent back to Nvidia for them to research.
