Fix key drops??
Game is enjoyable but is it just me or does having to kill NPCs near a mission that requires a key in a open multiplayer world dumb?? I've been trying to complete The Negotiator for a whole day and I end up either waiting for NPC's to respawn and mindlessly waste time, Or having to ask random people if they have the key. Haven't been able to progress the vendor because of this, this needs more tuning in my opinion.

IMO quest keys should be on at least the boss every time he spawns. This is just stupid to go back and clear a whole village or area and not find a single key on the entire group of defenders time and again. A good example is the Ban Pa elder key, been there well over 20 times, have only seen the door open once, and never seen the key to do it. Its not good game play, it just makes me lose interest with such mindless perpetual grinding for no gain at all.

Quests should never be locked behind keys at all, thats where the rare top loot should be atleast, been 2 days and i cant do 2 quests because of keys.

I've never found it in 320 hrs, every random there was desperate as well.
I finished it because a friend picked it up from AI he didn't kill. He saw a guy looting the AI, went after him and checked for himself and found the key, the other one checked the body but didn't loot the key xD, I can't even imagine he found it already before...

Why say that? I leave keys behind that I don't need when people are around. Otherwise, if others aren't around, I loot em and throw them in the box at base.

Why say what? I only speak the truth, as you've found out by now I assume.
In 240 hours I didn't find one quest key.
After 320 hours I found a couple which were identical but until then, I've never found many quest keys, they were only gifted by friends/randoms.

That you can't imagine he found it already.

Your experience is certainly not the norm, and I don't know why you haven't found more. Especially considering I have found all but eight total keys (three being task keys) in my 316 hours. Maybe four were gifted to me, though I've found duplicates afterwards so I consider those to be found by myself as wells.

Where did anyone say he found the key in the post I've reacted on? The 2 lads were saying they couldn't find the key...

Well, this isn't a lotery ticket I'm buying right?
There should be more than 1 winner...
Since I can only speak out of my own experience and the friends I've played with, I can honestly tell you a most of the people I've played with, lacked a lot of keys, hence the fact some were in our quest log for a very long time, despite the fact asking high level players or players on site if they had the key..

I was referring to that line.

I don't doubt people lack a lot of keys. I'm just saying it's not the norm to only find two task keys in that much play time.

Hell, I was grabbing the KV Attic and KV Doc keys every other trip to the starter town. Same with the HP 102 and HP Wep keys. Those drop like candy, compared to other keys. I've found tons of those searching for the HP 101 (finally found it) and 103 (still haven't) key

The PLA03 key is also a pretty frequent drop. I found around eight of those while farming the PLA Strg key.

I'm not trying to gloat or flex or anything. It's just two very drastically different drop rates and I wonder what your idea of key farming is. Like, does it fall under the same definition as mine.

For me, key farming is going to an area and killing all AI in the zone. So, for example, PLA. I'll go in, kill all the AI at the airfield then move west to the village and kill the AI there. Some people only farm the airfield, literally halving the available pool of AI to kill for it. And I'll do this over and over until I find that key.

Sawmill is another one. I've watched a lot of people only kill the enemies in the lower area and extract out. I'll start in the lower area, move up the hill into the log piles, circle around north tot he shack in the forest and then make my way SE down the road to the two construction sites with AI in them. That was the most tedious one for me. I probably picked up two dozen Ofc and Strg keys while looking for that OfcStrg key. Mainly because the names are so similar so you get excited seeing one until you read the name on it.

My most hated area to farm was Blue Lagoon though. It just doesn't have good sight lines once you push past the main gate. The right flank is obscured by plants so I"m always on edge moving through there. But once you clear it, there are some AI scattered about to the north leading to the TB checkpoint on the road (the AI on that checkpoint count as BL, btw).

Well, I think the system falls flat to have only certain areas spawning certain keys. In Tarkov, you could literally find keys everywhere, spread around the whole place, not even from the same map. I was expecting this to happen in GZW as well. The drop rate in Tarkov is also bound by a certain %, found on the wiki pages, meaning Player Scavs can obtain important keys cause there's just not enough time to loot the whole place, be it without cheats of course, but also meaning looting certain stuff with higher % rates can get you the key you're after, more easily.
To have already that many recurring quests in every area, combined with very low drop rates of quest keys, is already overloading areas which are burdened enough already by people trying to finish quests in the area. I couldn't begin to even count how many times I've been to areas without a single enemy present, coming across players who were all running around like nervous chickens to kill the first respawns.

I went back numerous times to farm for keys in almost every region, until I decided to just continue other quests because the end result wasn't satisfying enough to keep farming. Helping others obtain quests and hoping to find keys along the way was more like the approach from mid game onwards, to avoid the annoying repetitive task of farming one area.

Yay, running around Ban Pa looking for the key which opens the door for Lab Rats task is great. I've been to Ban Pa on 7-8 different occasions, 3 of them alone clearing out enemies (all of them) and not a single drop.
This RNG is not what I would call fun to be honest.

No it's a great mechanics and makes sense to actually find the key on bodies within that area instead on some random desk *ss end of the map.

This mechanics should not be changed. That's part of the game, looting for keys.

When I am playing with a squad, we have found the key we needed on dead AI on our first try every single time. Just have more patience.

Wow. Bc your lucky to get you key on the first try, then the mechanic is ok? This SUKS and the drop rate SUKS when you solo lvl 30-35+ I spent days killing zombies just to do a single advance, without luck. All my miss req a key now.. Im stuck. F this! And this is not Tarkov, you cant buy keys here!

Greyzone is literally the easiest game to get keys on. I play with 2 others and we all have most keys for each location.

Just got to know where to look.

Says the lotery winner to every other participant.

There are many times I go into the area and not killing anyone. Nobody is around. All friendlies are gone.
I loot the dead bodies and get the keys. Don't be in a hurry. When you kill LOOT the dead bodies you might find something.
