TASK: "Tools of the trade" bug - can't complete it

I picked up the tools and brought them to the base but now I can't handle it to the girl. I tried to move them from my inventory to the locker and vice-versa but nothing happened. Also tried to drop but it says I can't since it is a quest item.

Any idea?

p.s. I have read another thread about it but the user said that destroying the item to reset the quest didn't work.

try to go into town with only a bag and the item with you, then die (so you loose the item) and see if that resets something

Can confirm, this works. My friend had the bugged mission but he didn't bother leaving base camp.... he just let a helicopter run him over, lost the item, and then went back out to town to get it again.

Usually, just leaving the server and rejoining has fixed this for me, for future reference.

I think it happens when a bit of lag happens as you pick up the items so the server recognizes you have it but also thinks you don't. Kinda like when you're moving stuff in your inventory, there's a connection hiccup, and then that item can no longer be interacted with until you reconnect.

In the end this did the trick, just forgot to update this thread lol
