all reviews say avast is superior to windows defender.
I use SentinelOne on the company's laptop, it has an anti-espionage addon and it was there that it detected the collection of information from the OS.
Anyway, this game is suspicious, so it is blocked! No time to analyze binary
Since Norton bought Avast it is real ♥♥♥♥... good old days are gone. Same with AVG, Norton, ESET and so on. So many false positives you can't really tell what is real and what is not.
This game is not suspicious. All of these antiviruses steal all of your personal data, network data and so on + slowing your computer with 50 nonsense addons. Some antiviruses are even worse than viruses by themself.
Almost all games collect your hardware and OS info. Some for stats on what people are playing and some to adjust video settings. Even Steam does this. That is what your "anti-espionage" is detecting.
Keep in mind if you have some really important stuff on your PC in 99% of cases they don't use viruses but just steal your laptop. The 1% where they use some viruses are really specific and no antivirus will help there.
Just don't download ♥♥♥♥, keep windows defender on and that's it.
I'm a SysAdmin/DevOps and what I said is an ingenuity and a lack of knowledge that's no mistake.
But anyway, everyone puts what they want on their PC, but if that PC happens to have any important data, get used to it that one day it's going to go to ♥♥♥♥.
Here we use a phrase for this:
It said 1kg, but it meant 1g.
Good luck!
Oh come on, as a SysAdmin you should know fully well this is a common issue.
TF2 just had one https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/440/view/4210378060873836673?l=english
Black Mesa just had one https://steamcommunity.com/app/362890/discussions/0/4365752248013054740/
Welcome to every crash reporting service for every program ever.
Lol, tell me you don't know how to use a PC properly without telling me.
A lot of people don't use an active AV. I wouldn't say most but a decent amount of people do. I'll run a manual scan every couple of weeks but I don't have an active AV running. Safe browsing and downloading practices is all you really need. Disable all the optional features that can be installed when downloading programs (amazing how many people just click "Next" when installing something).
I've been using a PC since Windows 3.0 but I've not had a virus since I used Windows XP when I was first learning to use the internet. Adblockers, Java blockers and downloading from reputable sources is, generally, safe. It's once you start downloading from less-than-reputable sources and visiting shady sites that you have to be careful.
I get the occasional PUP but I've not had Malware/Spyware/Adware in twenty years.
you just told yourself . lol. matter of fact is, anyone these days with at least a tiny bit of computer knowledge will tell you that all of these AV programs are absolute BS and just make your system run slower and less smooth on top of all the false positive issues. Besides, there is really no need to have one since Windows Defender is more than enough and actually does its job , not like avast etc.
