GPU starts cooking after 20 minutes
This was not a problem before, but now my GPU starts cooking at 70 degrees and game shuts down.

I have lowered specs and upgraded 3Dx and started monitoring CPU temperature.
May have started after you did the "anti- rubberbanding update" or the patch before.
Happens since 5-7 days ago, before there were just incidental crashes - now they are regular and almost predictable.

ps - after 12 minutes back to 48 - I mean 44 - degrees. And yes, it is summer and I have no airco :steamhappy:

It's another issue as 70 degrees is just fine. I can't help without your exact computer specs. For all I know it could be a vram issue or something that just needs lower texture settings.
70C is perfectly safe. A GPU isn't going to cook until it reaches 95-100C and, even then, your PC should start throttling to keep it from reaching those dangerous temps. So, it doesn't sound like you're crashing due to overheating.

Mmmm okay, tnx for the feed back.
It may only be correlated - and not so much a cause.

I've send numeral crash reports - sometimes with description, sometimes there was nothing to describe.

Wait and see :-)

i found using a temp monitor causes the game to crash constantly. make sure nvidia overlay is off as well as the ingame fps monitor. zero crashes after.

tnx i will try

i play with nvidia 2060 laptop, and after a lot of crash in this game, i set up in game DLSS in balanced or performce, and in nvidia pannel low latency disable, i play very good with 40-50 FPS stable, it's no so much but i can play without crash and game run clean

If you think 70c is cooking then i`m sorry when you will see your GPU in 90 :D

There seem to be a lot of overestimation of the problem. Yes the game does take a ton of resources to run and yes, it does heat up the GPU, but it's nothing your system can't handle. I'm running an 4080 and while playing GZW the fans sound like a drone hovering near by.

70 degree's is pretty normal.

my 5700XT that would have a hot spot of 105c and worked fine (still works) for like 3.5 years begs to differ.

different CPUs and different GPUs have different thresholds, I would never claim 105c is fine on most cards and even if the GPU is supposed to be able to handle that temp it would be better to have more headroom.

but as others have said 70c is perfectly fine.

as for the other person saying overlays are crashing the game, that sounds like an issue you are having but I am not.

I can have NVIDIA overlay, MSI afterburner overlay running same time and not crash (I still have had 0 CTD after 60+ hrs)

riva stats can definitely cause frame drops and hiccups though.

I make bacon and eggs daily using my CPU..... Should i not be doing that?
Chameleon_Silk Jun 25, 2024 @ 2:56pm
mmmm bacon

The first 200 hours I played without problems :-)

Unbelievable, these guys put a jester on anyone who is speaking out what he experiences.
Little toxic kids at work.

You didn't specify how hot your CPU is running at which could be the bigger problem, GPU at 70 shouldn't be problematic.
Although I've noticed in the last 2 weeks I was playing, more straight to desktop crashes occurred than in 240 hrs before combined. Each time buying new stuff is frustrating as hell.
