TR actually remastered by Saber & by OpenLara & TR2Main russian devs, and they listening and making patch!

And Aspyr did the publishing and additional help like providing the source code to russian devs.

Saber gave almost full freedom to them and hired them from community of people you all know from OpenLara (Xproger), TR1main (Arsunt) and other projects and their developers and contributors.

However due of stupid interference of legal team, team was not allowed to use existing code of their open source Tomb Raider projects (thats why i said "almost full freedom") and have to recreate everything from scratch starting from original Tomb Raider source code (not reverse engineered this time), and seems like they did not manage to recreate everything in time of release, and thats the bad news.

But good news are - if you know anything about those guys, you know about their passion to improve Tomb Raiders in their projects. Those projects was not updated for about year because their devs was busy 24\7 with those remasters to get em ready for release date which was choosen to be a Lara Croft birthday (14 feb).

While not everything was ready for this date, you can rest assured, they would not stop on what they already done with remasters and would keep improving them and most likely will recreate missing features from OpenLara and TombMain and other projects.

They are reading feedback and bug reports and feature requests everywhere (but not allowed to talk back, you know this stupid corporatism, where only community manager of parent company is allowed to speak to people and do it very carefully), even here on steam forums.

1st patch is already actively developed, and with those guys behind development of remasters, you can be absolutely sure that they will keep updating this game for years even if they would stop getting paid for this, because they spent many years for free, making their Tomb Raider enhancment projects and this remaster is not cashgrab for them, but a passion and dream project!

I did not mention other people besides Xprogger and Arsunt (i actually knew this guy back in 2007 when he and i was into RE4 PC modding together, i designed UI of unreleased RE mod toolset that he coded and we both did some file format research back then - and for the record, we did not speak for 1.5 decade, i did not get all of this information from him, im just mentioning this fact because i personally know how good in coding and reversing and how passionate he is, and always was long before he become well known to TR community with TRmain), there are some other creators of fan projects, who made high res texture packs and other mods, and they are all very passionate about Tomb Raider, so now when i know that remaster is not just developed by some unknown Aspyr devs, but actually developed by Saber's hired well know TR modders, reversers and coders (you can call them "united TR fans" sub-division of Saber, but im not sure if they are officially part of Saber team of contracted as individual outsourcers), im totally feel relaxed and confident, that every issue we have now - will be fixed soon, and that improvments would not stop on that, and that we are all heard by them!

So dont cry, dont be histerical, dont refund game, just create a thread and explain what doesnt feel right or broken, and how it can be improved, and it will happen sooner or later.

And please stop bashing or boycotting and refunding this game for stupid woke disclamer that Crystals put in this remaster, that they have nothing to do with, except for owning franchise.

If you want to boycott Crystals, do it with their most likely woke as hell and probably awfully written and poorly designed (again, just like the last god awful Uncharted wannabe Tomb Raider trilogy was, that i cant even call a real part of Tomb Raider franchise!) next Tomb Raider, that is now in development with involvment of also woke as hell Amazon.

But dont let their stupid self insertion in disclamer to ruin efforts of totally different team of people who developed this remaster and restored original trilogy with love and care and without any censorhip. And rest asured, that if they are Russians, they are most based people in a world and surely will not allow any woke crap to ruin original TR vision!

So please dont punish based and passionate fans of TR who made this remaster, for forced cooperation with woke Crystal Dynamics, which is only limited to legal and copyright questions!

И совет - не бойтесь юристов, они больше пугают, чем делают что-то на самом деле. Если вы возьмете свой код из существующих опенсорс проектов и поменяете названия функций, переменных и немного измените структуру и порядок функций... короче сделаете ремикс, и никому не скажете об этом, то ваш код уже юридически будет чист от всех формальностей, которые вам запрещают его использовать, и никто не докажет что вы не написали его с нуля и дело пойдет быстрее и легче! Да и никто из юристов проверять и сравнить код не будет, у них компетенции не хватит, и никому это нафиг не надо, так что сделайте себе и нам всем доброе дело, будьте смелее. Списывайте у себя же, только не слово в слово XD.

И постарайтесь пожалуйста убедить Сейберов и Аспиров, чтобы разрешили сделать исходный код ремастеров открытым, это не только развяжет вам руки, но и поможет получить помощь в разработке от других фанатов, и если вас по истечению бюджета или контракта отлучат от проекта и перестанут его обновлять, вы всегда сможете его продолжить законно и неофициально с открытыми исходниками, и не только вы, и при таком раскладе можно будет уже свободно без танцев с бубнами добавлять код и из ОпенЛары и ТомбМейна и других проектов.

the levels are completely separate from the original games right now, you can actually go download and play them without the games.

it would allow people to make tr1, 2 and 3 levels easier though cause the trle is more for tomb raider 4 levels.

i do want the randomizer though cause tomb raider 3 is a pain to even run. if i patch it, it no longer runs in forced windowed mode, that's currently one reason to get this to easily be able to stream tr3

I dont like censorship, but this one i can understand. Also i actually think that jacket with full nudity does not look realistic. I mean have you ever seen in 90th people wearing full nudity prints on their clothes in public places? Back then it was something weird, so a pinup version in bra looks more realistic to me. So i have mixed feelings. One side of me want accurate restoration of content and against any censorship and alterations, but other side kinda understand reason behind it and like version in bra more as more realistic for public appearance clothes.
Anyway this is easily moddable, you can even use texture with some nudify AI and will give you what you want.

Also to be fair I’m fine with it changed on the HD side mostly, that version has lots of changes. It’s classic should have kept the original art.

the only people allowed to say anything are the aspyr employees, who are not working on the project directly, saber is handling it, and even something as simple as posting a "update about the current bugs situation" can take a while because the developers can only speak through aspyr employees and transfer of information to them may take longer than the release of the patch
and i'm almost sure that the work is being done remotely which only makes it more difficult
you can check via steamdb that the dev build is being updated, so there will definitely be a patch soon
