Did they ever fix the bad frame pacing?
Game had bad frame pacing at launch which is why I have not purchased it.

For me it runs fine.
FHD and V-Sync on.

Cheers!

Same.
Never noticed/had any frame pacing issues myself.

It's ok for me so far in TR3 no issues and I usually spot these issues unfortunately for myself.

Test the game at 60Hz gsync off if you can for me please.

Bad frame pacing is only in the classic mode which is 30 FPS and a little more stuttery than the originals.

But this is fixed with a mod on Nexusmods that uncaps the framerate of classic mode, or rather caps it to the monitor's.

Otherwise, remastered mode adapts to the framerate of the monitor and can run on a potato anyway.

Not sure that's true. With Digital Foundry's performance analysis they are showcasing the frame pacing stutter at 60fps. Their solution is to set "prefer layered on DXGI Swapchain" for the per game Nvidia 3d settings. Watch the video at 14:40

I haven't felt framerate stutters in regular mode in the 300h of play I've had throughout the year.

Either way, whether it's actually patched or not for the few people who'd have this issue, you mentioned it right there: there's a workaround at driver levels. Why not just use that?

Been playing it since release and never had any fps issues.

As far as I am aware;
This issue only appeared with nvidia GPUs & if v-/g-sync was enabled, at least according to PCGamingWiki - (I think it's been fixed already though).

Personally I never had the frame pacing-/camera stutter-issues Digital Foundry showcased (maybe because I never enable v-/g-sync in the first place though).

If you wanna play the classic mode just follow Vipers suggestion;

Yeah I think it's been fixed. I didn't alter that setting since I updated drivers and I don't get any stuttering. I've even just put v-sync on for the game in the control panel and still fine, also setting 60 Hz gave me no problems. But maybe it depends on which driver version is being used, because some vulkan games are still hit-and-miss with frame pacing for me (though this is OpenGL, but maybe it still applies).
Yeah purchased the game just for the hell of it. Instantly returned it. It has the exact issue that Digital Foundry discusses and it has not been fixed and never will be. Ran it at 60Hz no vrr and could instantly see poor frame pacing. Once again PC gamers are neglected. PC stutter race forever I guess. Tired of this bs. Why is smooth frame pacing so difficult for these idiot developers.

That was the PAL Saturn version only. NTSC Saturn and all DOS & PS1 versions were fine.

It has bad pacing, nothing to do with the version used to create the port. It's just the port. It has the issue. It is documented. You can test it yourself. Set display to 60Hz turn of freesync or gsync. slowly pan camera around for a few minutes. If you can't see it, IDK what to tell you other than some people simply can't. Pacing stutters are completely different than frame drop related stutters. They are more difficult to see as well. Your framerate will be locked with absolutely no dips. If the frames are not delivered evenly, meaning the slight variations in the time between the frames then you get perceivable stutter, at least perceivable to some. The game has this issue.

I only experience poor frame pacing when playing on my TV, ie. limited to 60 Hz, no GSYNC. On my monitor, which is 144 Hz with GSYNC, I don't experience the same thing. As for the driver setting, it was already set to that (I've never changed it) and I still experience the stutters without GSYNC.
That setting is definitely not suppose to be on by default on Nvidia cards. It should not be on Globally. Only on a per game basis. You see though a game should not be smooth only relying on VRR technology and high refresh rates. It should be tested on non VRR displays and low common refresh rates as well like 60Hz and run smoothly. There is no excuse. It's lazy.
