Because that is clearly not Lara (by looks, mindset, goals in life and everything else but the money she has) but the random female Crystal Dynamics decided to call as Lara Croft.

Havingg played TR since the beginning, I enjoyed the series, yes Lara is like the survivor Lara, however CD have said she willl gradually develop in to the classic Lara as this is indeed set before the originnal games.

She certainly is not masculine in anyway. just a more realistic view of a fit & athletic woman.

No, Lara iss not like the "survivor trilogy (aka Uncharted) Lara", she is not full of drama, she is independent and built upon her own self ... also her body, "survivor Lara" can never be the real Lara Croft unless she goes through a lot of surgeries or be born again.

Dont need to be like what they portraied at the Netflix series, the real Lara Croft can be fit without being "like that"... much like what was shown at the old movies too:

Angelina "is a real woman" and just a bit more of musclles she would be as fit as the girl in the first photo I provided.

So no, "that" is not neither ever will be the real Lara Croft no matter how much brainwash they at Crystal Dynamics try to push over and say to be the real one, they just have a twisted vision where females can not be pretty and Lara was an icon for females too not only for males because she achieved a lot of things through the games, was independent, strong and pretty with pretty face and body too.

I feel pity for the people who watch that series, and think they know Tomb Raider afterwards.

I feel pity for the whole movie industry that they don't have any original and new ideas, and need to make profit of a 30 year old video game franchise.

It's all so sad these days. How come?

But the real sad thing is how these streaming providers try to rip off their customers.
Raising costs, adding advertisements, blocking sharing.

DAZN is probably the worst, though.
Next year I'll cancel my account.
(makes no sense for me right now because I've already paid for 1 year)

I know what you mean. I'm gay and I DON'T feel "represented" when they change a popular character's sexuality into LGBT. I feel embarrassed that people think most of us LGBTs find it a good idea (we don't) and also disappointed that they're rarely creative to write NEW characters who are charismatic and LGBT, like Astarion from Baldur's Gate 3. One could say Zip's sexuality had never been mentioned, suuuure (although he's a stereotype in the anime and he wasn''t like that in TR5, 7 and 8). But Lara has only dated guys in TR6, the classic comics (Chase Carver was her best boyfriend imo) and the 2 films.

Since she gets the pistols in the last episode, can we assume season 2 will have something to do with the old Tomb Raider games?

Yes, with have something to do with old Tomb Raider games... 2 pistols.
I dont expect anything from that but crap, IF they use it on a second season they wil use it like how they used the TOMB RAIDED message on Uncharted 2013.

If a season 2 comes, don't expect the 2 pistols to appear much or at all. Because after the end of TR2013 that's exactly what I expected in Rise of TR and Lara doesn't use them a single time.

Yeah, not having the twin pistols was an obvious omission, those are as much a part of Tomb Raider as Lara Croft herself.
I think the intent is to synchronize with whatever game had the bow, since the retgon begins there (I assume).
Or the second retgon, was there not a first retgon?

The first time I saw Lara in TRI classic, I genuinely thought she was flirting with Larson.
And her biographical classic lore mentions that she had a male fiance (arranged marriage) before she declined the proposal.

LAU is already a sort of reboot so yes, LAU is first retcon.

Funny fact there was already was a animation of Tomb Raider series before Netflix. Though I don't know if it was a short series.

I vaguely remember something like that. I think it was like a web-series? And either I have very disjointed memories of it, or it was pretty disjointed. Must have come out sometime during the LAU era.

It's an Animatrix-style collection of short stories (each under 10 minutes long) directed by different creative teams and done in different animation styles. 10 episodes, about an hour runtime all in all.

What about Sophia Leigh?
There is more then one billionaire woman in classic Tomb Raider.
I don't think she'll be brought back though, even though the implication is that she's functionally immortal.

Episode 8 of Revisioned is my favorite, JuniorRaider in training!
Episode 10 is also a good one.

I don't know if the series would use Natla though, for 2 reasons.
1: If the retgon2 timeline is going to recreate TR1 (for the second time!), then they'd keep Natla for the actual game.
2: The show seems to prefer creating their own villians. At least I assume so, when I saw the villian for season1, I didn't even recognize him, like he was a new character.
