i just heard something about tr:remaster having higher player numbers, but don't know in which exact context. regardless, it seems to be a success so far.

it had a higher player peak, but that's just steam numbers, we don't know console numbers and crash/spyro are more popular there than tr
But first of all, I hope they fix/patch the issues players have been reporting. Success of this remaster can potentially lead to more in the future, but they should prove that they care and are capable of fixing those issues.
Hope they can fix the bugs asap
FMVs was the most dissapointing part of remaster, besides lack of graphics option and no texture filtering for classic mode.
And, yeah, I absolutely hate what they made out of one of the most iconic game character.
Anyway, gotta realize what they actually did: Just capitalize on the name, nothing more nothing less. Just like Splinter Cell did, or Thief, or...
I personally liked their take on Lara and seeing her becoming stronger as the plot advance. The supernatural aspects and the sensation of exploring a forbidden place were certainly there too. Himiko was a pretty cool villain.
That being said, I simply don't compare all the different itinerations of her. They're just too different, with differences in design, gameplay, plot, time of release... No one was meant to last forever and it's pretty normal in franchises as big as this one. I'm actually excited to see what comes after Survivor Lara.
