I think it's more than 2m if we include other platforms. Looks like it's a good start even if it was released the same month with HellDivers 2 and Final Fantasy 7 Remake. (But who knows we don't know the budget)
P.S. Maybe people really miss the classic Lara

from what i've heard, tr remaster is even more successful (or has at least more players) than crash bandicoot and spyro the dragon remasters remakes.

It also has 4 times... FOUR TIMES the amount of players playing it right now than Suicide Kills the Justice League has.

how dare you provide proof that i'm misinformed? :D
i just heard something about tr:remaster having higher player numbers, but don't know in which exact context. regardless, it seems to be a success so far.

it had a higher player peak, but that's just steam numbers, we don't know console numbers and crash/spyro are more popular there than tr

It's a budget project, so hopefully the sales will be enough to be considered successful.

But first of all, I hope they fix/patch the issues players have been reporting. Success of this remaster can potentially lead to more in the future, but they should prove that they care and are capable of fixing those issues.

Good. We love classic Lara Croft, not that whiny little girl from 2013 with daddy issues

"We" as in the very vocal group that denies the last trilogy was sucessful? You can enjoy one version without condenming the other lol.

the credits are quite small, budget project, not AAA. Would say it's a success so far.

Hope they can fix the bugs asap

Hopefully they will spend money to actually hire some CGI artists to recreate old FMVs with modern lara and other NPC models but stylized as old FMVs or in game cutscenes. And hopefully available not just in 1080p but in 4k and 60 fps as well!

FMVs was the most dissapointing part of remaster, besides lack of graphics option and no texture filtering for classic mode.

Has nothing to do with success.

And, yeah, I absolutely hate what they made out of one of the most iconic game character.

Anyway, gotta realize what they actually did: Just capitalize on the name, nothing more nothing less. Just like Splinter Cell did, or Thief, or...

It's okay to dislike it but the trilogy was overall pretty popular and many people did find it fun. Although I think keeping the context in mind it's important and there's no deny they tried to grab Uncharted's increasing popularity with 2013.

I personally liked their take on Lara and seeing her becoming stronger as the plot advance. The supernatural aspects and the sensation of exploring a forbidden place were certainly there too. Himiko was a pretty cool villain.

That being said, I simply don't compare all the different itinerations of her. They're just too different, with differences in design, gameplay, plot, time of release... No one was meant to last forever and it's pretty normal in franchises as big as this one. I'm actually excited to see what comes after Survivor Lara.

Pretty good. Word of mouth among younger gamers who never played it before seems positive overall. I hope it becomes successful enough to encourage newer entries in this style.

Nice, Aspyr and the modders must be very happy, now they can put a lot of money in their pockets and forget that they shipped a game with a disrespectful message towards the guys whose work they are profiting from.
